The nut tree family theme Park, did not meet expectations, It was losing money. So they tore it down. There is a small area in front of the stores, where they saved the train and the carousel. So you can still ride the Nut Tree train although it's in a circle, the children still like it. Of course the carousel is a lot of fun. I thought it would be important to give this review, because I know how it feels to drive somewhere, and find out that attraction you are looking for no longer exists.

This is a truly wonderful place in Vacaville. There is so much to do for everyone from children to adults, it is good for couples or even a solo venture. I visited by myself and cannot wait to take my daughter to the water park!!!

There's a carousel (closed during inclement weather), a train, and the rocking horses. The train ride is just a circle, not the nice trip out to the airport there used to be. Still a nice place to hang out with or without kids during nice weather. Peet's Coffee is two steps away, and there are lots of food choices.

Most of the shops are over priced. Not a lot for kids just a train and carousel. They used to have a whole kids thing but closed it down. I love j&c nails, eyebrow art & of course sees candy

Yes, this is good, I actually shop here more than the Outlet Mall. The food is more varied here, and you can get all kinds of good food here with lots of variety. It goes on for blocks, and I'd suggest you come with a vehicle. I buy dog food at Petsmart (though I have to say I hate their policy against breeders--nothing like cutting off your nose to spite your face! and I am looking for another place to buy the food I want), books at Barnes and Nobel, and I shop at a lot of other stores there too. It is clean, new, and nice. Store items are reasonably priced--better than the Outlet Mall.

The Nut Tree center has a beautiful carosel and small train ride for the family. The train is the original Nut Tree from back in the 70's There is a good variety of shops and places to eat here. I highly recommend Villa Corona for Mexican food! They do have a Panera, Fentons, Ribios, L&L Barbeque. Boudin, Chipotle and Krispie Kreme are just across the street. This is to just name a few. As for shopping they offer Home Goods, Old Navy and Sports Authority ect. Too any to mention. It's a great place to spend the day!

This was opened for a very short time. The family park is gone but a nice shopping area is in its place. There is still the carousel and little train in the parking lot, but that's about it. The train is often broken down. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if you live here, it's a fun place to take the little kids and shop

My grandniece enjoyed the train ride emensely with her dad. There's a carousel, too, and some kiddie bars. It's a mini-paradise for little kids.

Been a few times recently with family and found that the train has either been gone or not running and that is very disappointing to my little ones. The train is why we come for since it is a throwback to the original nut tree. The upkeep of this little park is pretty sad. When the train is not operational that is half of the rides. Also trying to have a picnic with the little ones at the picnic tables is not possible as people take over for birthday parties for hours. The final straw was the Easter egg hunt, which was chaos and my little ones got pushed out of the way by bigger kids who got the majority of the hidden eggs, not fun at all. So much potential but instead a lot of disappointment.

It makes me so proud that Vacaville owns this enchanted park, even if you do not like kids, you can't help but to smile, as you see families out and about having fun. Not just oogling the TV, playing and texting on the phone but really out having family fun. It is the community spirit and facilities that makes Vacaville such a worthwhile place to visit. I highly recommend a stop just to relax nad watch all the fun.

I think most of those pictures should be removed because it's NOT how the Nut Tree Park is NOW. I miss the older ones too (before 9yrs ago and the one back to the 60's)...However to this generation of kids, as my grandkids are, they don't know about the older ones, they just LOVE THIS ONE !!!! We go there often, after having a delicious time at Fentons for sandwiches and ice cream. I think my youngest grandson (4yrs old) loves the TRAIN more than ice cream...and that is saying a lot. While we're eating at Fentons, every time he hears the train whistle blow he gets so excited. We've taken all four of the grandkids and they just run in different directions, screaming with excitement. The 10 yrs and the11yrs olds love the merry -go -round and the big circle thing that everyone pushes and then jumps on. The 4yrs old LOVES the train and merry-go-round. The 8yr old loves the merry-go-round, train and the black & white checker squares.

IF my kids were toddlers, and I wanted to do some shopping, this would be a great little stop. There is a little train ride which I believe is the same one that was there twenty years ago, and a bunch of those 25 cent rides one finds outside grocery stores. I recall how much my kids loved those rides so if I were passing through with toddlers, I would stop here.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the original Nut Tree was a landmark family-owned and family-friendly restaurant, with a magnificent aviary full of gorgeous tropical birds in the center of the place. (Also a great gift shop with lots of artwork and aviation artifacts.) The original Nut Tree closed about 15 years ago, and they replaced it with this trashy strip mall. About the only good thing is the Nut Tree airport is still operational (and Boudin's is opening one of their branch cafes next month).

If you see the picture that accompanies this facility, it shows a roller coaster. The actual park closed a few years ago due to the park raising entrance fees so high that no one could afford to go. The only things still available to do are the merry go round and the train.
