Love this place, unlike most 9 hole courses, there is a ton of variety here. Par 3,4 and 5 and a mixed terrain. The added bonus is a great sports bar restaurant on site when you are finished with your round.
It is a fun golf course with two different side to play. it is slow as they get 90K rounds a year. It has some good food there, the green are always good but it is a heavy played GC.
If you suck at golf, this is the course for you. Nine holes and mostly short ones. One par 5 and 3 par 3s. Watch out for the really short par 3 next to Ygnacio Valley Rd. - pull it or skull it and you're smashing passing cars. This course can really play slow as the skill level of the average golfer is a joke. My advice is to play Boundary Oak a few miles away if you want a real 18 championship style golf course. You can play Boundary Oak for about the same price as this beginners' course. Leave Diablo Hills to the duffers. I must say, the restaurant here is pretty good.
Played here with some friends while I was home for the holidays and really enjoyed it. For the moeny, the course has good value and is in pretty good shape. Course is relatively wide open and makes for a pretty fun round, would certainly come back next time I'm in town.
This course is a little jewel near Ygnacio Valley Rd. and Heather Farms. While not rated a touch course, there are several holes that will challenge even a good golfer(which I'm not). The golf folks are very friendly. They let you play as twosomes, and generally the play is quick. Once in awhile you'll get some slow folks but it's usually not a problem midday when we play. Have a beer in the restaurant, but don't bother with the food.
Played this course on Labor Day. It was not crowded at all. It's a 9-hole course and includes a par 5. The greens are well maintained. The fairways are only average. You need to make good club selections on several of the holes due to the placement of bunkers. The 9th hole is 310 yards with about 8 bunkers in front of the green. So hold up short unless you are Tiger Woods. All-in-all a fun course to play.
This is by far the biggest rip off in the Bay Area. I was with a client this past Friday and went out to Boundary Oaks to try and get a late round in. Unfortunately, they had a tournament going on so Diablo Hills was our next closest option. We teed off at around 5pm and it was $26 per person to play nine holes. I repeat, it was $26 per person to play nine holes at what I would call an "executive course". If you think this is a nice golf course, then you do not play golf. The greens are like putting on a real golf courses fairways. If this course was $5 or $10, I would say good value, great place to learn how to play golf, but at the prices they are charging, this course is good for nothing. If you are looking for somewhere to play, I highly recommend going on golf now and checking out all the 18 hole courses that you can play for $26 or less that aren't too far away.
Generally easy to get on, with reasonable green fees . . . and this 9 hole course has a par 5 (#8) hole over the top of a water tank.
