景点印象
很漂亮,从Berkeley校园步行过去大约1个小时。面积很规整,一个长方形。后来看了下介绍,果然是用垃圾填出来的,怪不得那么规整。海鸟很多。风筝活动在这里办
What a great way to spend an afternoon, especially if it's a sunny day and it's free. People were walking, fishing, running, dancing, painting, taking pictures, and yes, texting. Secret... go in the afternoon and when the tied is up.
I came to visit my cousins, but the teacher in me can't stop. I took the preteens to the marina to take pictures of them at sunset. They were describing the sunset to me as I was shooting them, but using simple words like "cool," "pretty," and "nice." I told them those all described it, but I wanted them to use different adjectives to describe the sunset. We each took turns. I started out with "This sunset is magnificent" I eventually got then to use words such as inspiring, calming, goregous, spectacular, etc. They loved it and so did I.
This area has several features. First off is Cesar Chavez Park: location of the annual Berkeley Kite Festival every summer, lots of space to fly kites; a small dog park area designated for off-leash; neat sun dial at the top of the hill; and a flat, paved trail that circumnavigates the park providing views of Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito, Richmond and the Richmond bridge, Angel Island, Mt. Tam and Marin county, San Francisco, Oakland, and my favorite landmarks, the Golden Gate Bridge and Sutro Tower. And oh the sunsets!Cesar Chavez isn't the only neat spot. Kids should check out Adventure Playground; kids have designed and built the myriad of towers and other structures in the playground. Parent supervision is required so plan accordingly. Interested in birds; the Shorebird Nature Center is a great stop to get acquainted with some of the birds you can see in the area year round. If you are into fishing off a boat or want to take an evening cruise around the bay, Berkeley Charter Boats and Hornblower Cruises leave from this area.Interested in fishing off the pier? There is a bait and tackle shop where you can grab everything from a fishing pole and bait to the sandwich and drink to tied you over until you catch dinner.Restaurants in the area include Hana Japan (where they cook your meal in front of you), Skates On The Bay and HS Lordships. The Double Tree has a hotel right on the marina. It really is a well rounded spot to spend the whole day and evening as well.
What a perfect spot to see the Bay Area. Centrally located in East Bay. Views of San Francisco, The Bay Bridge, The Golden Gate Bridge, and the Marin Headlands. Fantastic. Go park here and take a long walk along the Bay.
Cezar Chavez is a great park for many people. I go with my dogs as there is an off leash area. You often see family groups and people flying kites and are right on the SF Bay
Great place to see the San Francisco skyline, the Bay, the wind- surfers and birds, boats, ships. A couple of restaurants...perfect for brunch or a drink... Good walking area.
The walking paths are delicately manicured in some places. There are separate dog parks as well. Bring a cup of coffee and enjoy a quiet walk along the bay or sit on one of the benches. Enjoy a brisk walk/run/jog as well.
The views are great a good walk can be had around the harbor and waterfront and a very good restaurant with working fireplace to warm up after being in the fresh bay breezes called Skates. Even when not hungry I stop in to warm up by the fire drinking one of their signature martinis.
a great place too hang out to have brunch and long walks and if you have the right boat! great for cruising the bay.
Great location to view San Francisco. Doubletree Hotel 4 star but a bit basic. Sits next to a Marina and Nature Park with Burrowing Owls in October
The walking area at this site is ideal. You can walk right next to and around the bay and get exercise, fresh air, and lovely views.
What a beautiful spot to enjoy the view of the city across the bay. Quiet and charming. The sunset alone was worth the trip.
The Berkeley Marina is surrounded by Parkland on 3 sides and San Francisco Bay to the west. It's a great place to spend a day walking, sunbathing, or having a picnic. There are buses from downtown Berkeley. The views of San Francisco, Marin, the Bay, and the East Bay Hills aresimply fabulous. It's a wonderful place to watch the Sun and Moon rise and set
From the dog park (clean, huge, friendly (dogs and people) and easy, plentiful parking to the motel (dog friendly) to restraunts or fast food nearby this is THE PLACE to spend a day. We watched ocean going ships navigate under the bridges, sail boats, windsurfers, ground squirrels and pelicans dine. (They are NOT graceful just before hitting the water they splay out their feet) which however did not stop the one we watched from catching the fish he went after! There's a small bait and crab preparing spot on your way out to the pier. Parking has always been easy with places available. That's really neat when you think of the rest of the bay area.Don't forget your kite...or buy one there...I can't wait to go back.
