The Old Globe Theater has a wonderful reputation for new shows that capture the imagination and have the opportunity to head to Broadway. Their shows win Tonys on Broadway.The theater itself is more intimate than you might imagine and acoustics are really greatThe Old Globe has become an integral part of the San Diego experience and should a showbe playing that you are interested in seeing, you will not be disappointed. Parking is more difficult than it should be for Balboa Park.Enjoy !!

This was a spur of the moment decision to see a play here and thanks to American Express, I got great seats at the last minute. The production was first class but this is about the Theatre itself. Wonderfully preserved as a landmark, good HVAC on a very hot and humid night, great food and beverage venues including alcohol, fantastic service from the floor personal, and obvious pride shown by all that are associated with this Theater. Kudos to all for preserving an important landmark and making it a cultural center for San Diego.

In the midst of its surrounding chaos, Balboa park always soothes and astounds. The addition of Panama 66 is a welcome one.

Saw, Bright Star the Musical there recently. Seats were designed well for the stage. Almost impossible to get a bad seat.

When visiting Balboa Park I highly recommend checking out the Old Globe for a play. The place is one of the things that makes San Diego unique.

A wonderful place for live plays in a beautiful setting in Balboa Park. Indoor and outdoor theaters. We have season tickets for fall/winter seasons and sometimes the Shakespeare plays outdoors in summer. Beautiful plaza, food and gift shop. Close to downtown, Old Town and ocean.

The people who visit on the weekends are great fun to watch. The pre-show crowds always are salted with interesting characters.

I've seen many plays at this theater and have very much enjoyed all of them. The first time I went there I was not aware that they tend to keep the theater a bit cold so they actors don't over heat up there. So, i suggest bring a jacket with you, even if it is summer. Sometimes you can find cheap tickets on stub hub, craigslist or another ticket venue if like. I have sat in all different sections and there really is not a bad seat in the place. the balconies can be bad if the stage has a setup where the view is blocked, generally in my experience there is a warning when getting tickets if there is a part of the stage that is blocked from that seat.

Had front row seats in the balcony - fantastic, but really there is not a bad seat in the house. Always a beautiful show, lovely location and tons of helpful volunteers. Parking is the only nuisance.

The Old Globe has been around forever and offers top notch performances. Every seat has a good view of the stage and its an intimate setting where casual to business causal is acceptable. No formals or fur coats necessary. Prices are reasonable and you can find discounts.

Old Globe puts on wonderful shows, all seats have great views and the theatre is comfortable, there is plenty of parking in the park may have to walk a little but the setting of Balboa Park is exceptional

Saw a world premiere of a musical. Theater fun, production great. Play just OK. Worth a visit on every trip to San Diego. And also in the middle of all the Balboa Park cultural venues.

Where else can you get a choice of 3 theaters (in the summer and 2 in the winter)? Original productions which often continue to broadway and win Tony awards. Great theater. Great acting. Great direction. Great productions.

The Old Globe Theatre is really beautiful & just so Unique. I wasn't sure what to expect when I went to my first show. You have a good seat no matter where you sit. It is in the round. If you get a chance to go do it...you won't be disappointed. If you enjoy going to the theatre.

Our tour guides gave us an enjoyable behind the scenes look at what goes into putting on a production. Very interesting.The play was a delight and just being in the Old Globe Theatre was a nice experience.
