Disappointingly small and uninspired. I wish the Triton down the street would loan them some taste! The place is dark and poorly lit. The space is very badly layed out. The rooms are small, and there is no where to really sit and study a piece. It's right next to the Mission Santa Clara--and that just makes it worse, because the mission is much more artistic. The university is so pretty--how come they can't do a better art gallery???? Not for kids.

This is a good art museum that is open for free on the Santa Clara University Campus. The permanent collections focus on1) Mission Santa Clara de Asís History - the Mission itself is a couple minutes walk away from the museum.2) Santa Clara Valley and Santa Clara University HistoryThey also have an exhibit that they normally change each summer. As such, during the summer months the museum is closed. It is open to the public when school is in session. Its best to check their web site for hours.

This is a wonderful find on the campus of Santa Clara University. If you are near or on campus, plan a visit to see a wide variety of art. Don't miss the Spanish Colonial exhibits on the lowest floor.

This is a great little gem that has some fascinating historical context for the town and mission of Santa Clara. The entire museum can be viewed and reviewed in 30-40 minutes.

This small museum just inside the campus entrance has had a variety of focused shows.

The top floor of the museum holds the non-permament collection which means...NO PHOTOGRAPHY!!!!!!! I, however, learned that the hard way and got followed around by noisy girls (who work there) the rest of the time I was there. I got a bit annoyed but that's how museums operate, pals! =) Lolz!!!!! The permanent collection (located on the bottom floor) allowed picture taking but no flash! I enjoyed this collection more because there is historic artifacts here! I'm really a sucker for historic artifacts since I, once upon a time, wanted to be an archaeologist. ; ) Downstairs contained Ohlone Indian artifacts, as well as, old Santa Clara University classroom objects! This museum is free so it is definitely worth the look and it doesn't take that much time either =) It took me an hour at most and that included me taking a lot of notes for my blog and taking quite a few pictures! For more, please visit my traveling blog! =)http://ecilaluvitall.blogspot.com/
