Large park with lots of places for group events. It is centrally located and close to local shopping, banks and the post office. Plenty of room for sports and family picnics

This is a great park for locals to come and visit. They have great walking/running paths. There is also numbered stops to do certain exercises at each one. Tons of ducks and birds but signs to not feed them :( Overall a good park.

This is a superb city park. There is the George F. Haines International Swim Center swim center here. The facility has trained Olympic stars, has a very good swim club, Santa Clara aquamaidsd (Synchronized Swimming) and the public for some hours can also swim here. The pool is open to both residents and non-residents.There is a lawn bowling facility; a softball field; a good. an exercise course. There are nice fountains (complete of course with ducks). We have gone to both family and group picnics here. It has an excellent area for that. There are other things to do here as well such as walk, bike, enjoy just sitting around and seeing the scenic beauty.Santa Clara Library is adjacent to the park. There is parking for free at the park.

I was here with my wife, son and myself. This place is nice. Not very crowded during the afternoons and a few shaded areas to spend the evening with the family. Just a little concerned with the duck dropping which seem to be all over the place :) It's connected to the Santa Clara Library and is a fun place.

Central Park is a beautiful park and a great place to take the kids or just relax. Lots of open space, several areas to barbeque and picnic, and it has two different play areas for the kids. One that totally accommodates the little ones with swings, slides and all and the other area that totally accommodates the older kids. Swings, big slide, and a tall wall where the kids can play and climb. When I lived in San Jose, I would take my son there when he was a year old, now, I live in Santa Clara for about 10 yrs and he is 15 and he still enjoys the play area for the older kids. I have a 3 yr old grandson and he absolutely loves the park. They have a beautiful pond with mallard ducks. The pond isn't as clean as you would want, but you have to remember, there are ducks living in there so it is as clean as can be. On Sundays, between 2pm and 4pm, they have a free concert in the main Pavilion. Music ranges from blues, jazz, 60's, 80's, every Sunday it's something different. The library is right next door to the park so you can make a family day of it. This year we did not make it to the 4th of July festivities, but we were able to see the fireworks from our place. Yes, parking is crazy during 4th of July, but people find parking down side streets, in library parking lot, in St. Jude's parking lot behind the park. This may cost money to park but money goes toward the church/school.

Tried fireworks here since they were free. Guess you get what you pay for. Place was packed and the display was really lame. Someone thing happened at the end and the finale fizzled out with 10-60 second gaps between various. Traffic was aweful. They should have opened up the high school parking. Had to walk a mile to find parking on the side street. Might be a nice park otherwise, but stay away from the fireworks.

Great park for a picnic, wine and arts, or large gathering. You can rent out several areas for your private party. It's located behind the Santa Clara Swim Center and is a great place to walk around or just watch the ducks.

too loud and when events take place, the traffic is terrible. Should do a better job monitoring traffic. Often there are homeless people hanging out.

Pleasant park to walk around. Good for family picnics. Crowded on holidays. Next to the International Swim Center and City Library

I grew up in Sunnyvale / Santa Clara so I know this park well. It is a bit non-descript, better than just a neighborhood park because of the playground, tennis courts, fields...but don't think Central Park New York, because this is the sanitized suburban type of park with a library and pool. The pool is one of the best features. It has a shallow pool, a 50-meter olympic pool that has been used for training by Mark Spitz and others (okay, so maybe it's not the newest), and a diving pool. This is the place to go if you are serious about swimming. The best time is Monday through Friday 12 noon to 1 pm. For a few dollars you can jump in the appropriate lane, from slow to Master's, and get a great workout. Swimmers go during their lunch hour, so you know they don't have too much time to goof off. Still, the same swimmers go year after year, so it's a friendly bunch.

A nice jogging destination from Mariani's, didn't even need to use the map on my phone.

great park, separate toddler area with water table, library, covered pavilion and duck pond.

Unless you want to see what the aquatic center looks like the park is un-remarkable. There are other much more interesting parks in the region. Try the park around the historic Hayes Masion in southern San Jose.
