Very clean and pleasant view and a lovely place to walk and watch the world go by. Definitely check out Stearn's Wharf for a great chance to catch the seals and fish.

Neat, small fish restaurant at the very end of Stearn's Wharf. Good lobster bisque, clam chowder and crab cakes. It is very small, but has a few outside tables.

Great beach, pier and vibrant (close-by) downtown. All you need is in walkable distance. All levels of shopping and eateries. Great place to spend a lot of time keeping busy or doing nothing at all.

come to the waterfront and see why all the rest wish they lived here. Enjoy walking on the waterfront, finding marine life surprises in the jetty and treating yourself to delicious cocktails overlooking the harbor

a beautiful boardwalk with a wine tasting outdoor area. the beach area is upscale and the downtown trendy.

We've been visiting here for a month in a bungalow rental & we've walked this waterfront most of those days. We'll miss it so much when we leave ! There are strategically located restrooms (beware of the local "residents") and you'll encounter bikers, walkers, runners, lots of bus tourists with mega camera equipment, Loved every moment, with the possible exception of when the wind was blowing wildly & the palm fronds were coming down like daggers. Be aware of walking in the wind - I would think twice after dark also.

Some shops and restaurants--nothing exceptional. Be sure to walk out on the pier. The ocean views are great!

I spent four days in SB and spent several hours each day at the harbor. You can walk out on the pier and watch people fishing at the end(a bit commercial, watch for slivers, definitely no bare feet). You can walk around the harbor on the sea wall and see lots of wonderful sailboats and yachts. You can run, walk, bike, or skate down the long paved pathway. There is some beach if you feel the need to get in the water or lie on the sand. Lots of benches provide a place to sit and watch the world go by. You can rent sailboats, kayaks, paddleboards, and bikes nearby. Good resturants are nearby. Do not miss this area when visiting Santa Barbara!

Tourist trap on the pier but fun no less. I love piers with food and touristy trap stuff. Prices high here, but worth a look. Views are amazing looking back at city and hills behind city.

What's not to like. Paved 2-lane path that is parallel to and at times almost on the beach. You'll see families, couples, and those listening to their favorite tunes via their ear wigs, while roller blading, jogging etc. Grass or beach areas where you can lay out a blanket, rest, have a picnic, etc. Note: Across the street from the parkway, there is Chase Palm Park and it is a great place for children, as it has a Carousel. Probably costs money to ride, but there was also a play area.

The pier was a nice walk but the stores and restaurants were on the pricey side. I'd go back for the walk but skip the stores.

Fun tip: Park near the Marina and rent a bike (or walk) and head along the boardwalk south from there. Be sure to stop for lunch halfway before turning around and coming back!Fantastic area with lots to see and do. I used to bike weekly with my parents as a child along the boardwalk and visit Sterns Wharf and hang out on the beach. 15 Years later and I highly enjoyed taking my family to do the same.

We were just passing through Santa Barbara and stopped to walk down by the waterfront. It is a beautiful place and such a nice beach. It was January and it was around 77 degrees. There was a slight breeze but still a very comfortable day. We loved it.

Great to borrow a bike from hotel and take a leisurely ride by the ocean. Refreshing and safe.i liked the contrast of old and new as I sped along.

Take a casual stroll, bike ride or drive along the SB waterfront on any given sunny sunday and take in the arts and crafts by local and 'out of town' vendors and artists. The range and quality of wares on display is worth the effort and by midday the area comes 'alive' with activity. One guy was offering photos with his friendly parrot. Parking is affordable and plentiful but the place gets busy so it pays to get there before or around lunchtime. There is a wide range of bike rental options including individual, tandem and the carriage style surreys that take up to four people and suit families or friends wanting to ride up and down the bike paths provided. Folks looked to be enjoying their choice to take one of the surreys for a spin, whenever I've been there.Stearns wharf is the central icon on the SB waterfront and has a number of restaurants and foodie outlets, as well as additional parking....(validation available with purchase). A great place to finish up after taking in what the SB waterfront has to offer, for a meal and drinks to cool down. Good opportunity to soak up some vacation 'downtime' in an outstanding and friendly setting.
