You will either get a spot that's ocean front or creek side, either way you have the sounds and/or views of nature's majesty. It was the best camp spot i have ever been to, although a little chilly at night but so are most of the great outdoors. 1/4 easy hike takes you to nice falls to enjoy for couple hours but not for picnicking. Must go

Camping among redwoods was great. we had a creek side spot. It was site 21 Walk to beach took only a few minutes. Beach wasn't, very good but scenery was great. we didn't,t do hikes but used camping spot as a home base and traveled to Montery.

Limekiln has a gorgeous setting. Redwood trees abound. There are two easy trails for families. our 9 and 7 year old kids easily did the limekiln trail. They also managed the waterfall trail. The waterfall trail had three stream crossings which was a bit tricky as the water was flowing at a fairly high volume but the kids loved it.

I came here with 3 others to hike and see the waterfall! It was raining on the way from our resort, but thankfully the rain stopped by the time we arrived that morning at the state park. Parking was $10, and the attendant thoughtfully warned us about the waterfall hike being slightly "treacherous." It ended up being a great adventure and crossing the rushing creek 4? times before witnessing an amazing view of split twin falls. Crossing the creeks are no easy feat if you want your shoes to remain dry. Thankfully I had semi-waterproof hiking shoes, my friends however did not. I would only recommend this trail for able bodied individuals with moderately good balance. After going to and from the waterfall, we went on a 2nd hike to see the historical limekilns. With the 2 hikes, we were in and out of the park around 3 hours and just in time for lunch. This hike makes the "stroll" to see McWay Falls hardly comparable. I love hiking around streams and especially in anticipation for great views, so this was one of my favorite hikes by far.

We have yet to camp overnight but love the small rocky almost private beach / cove under the bridge. The trails, stream, forests, campgrounds all very inviting. Limekiln Park is a jewel, it could be hard to find in the dark but once located you will ok finding it again. The road down from Hwy1 is a little steep so just go slow. Best to keep your dog’s on leash as this is wild country.

We did not camp here although it looked inviting enough, and the shower/wc facilities were clean and close. We did follow all the trails and they are a very easy level as well as scenic - both waterfall and kilns are a great stop during a drive. We also sat on the rocks on the beach staring at waves for awhile, what more can one want?

Quiet, cool, beautiful, and not too crowded. We were there on Thursday, so not crowded. Would return anytime.

This campground is a bit hard to come by as the access road is hidden right at the edge of a bridge and then steeply goes down under the bridge. Once you find it, you know you came to the best spot in America...It is the best of both worlds!This campground has a choice between a redwood enchanted forest on one side, with rapid creeks, waterfalls and shaded spots to meditate in elves town...or a foggy beach where seals often swim around and you can enjoy a sunny day of solitude.

We stopped at Limekiln on the way to the north end of Big Sur and it was a nice break to do a quick hike to the falls and one to the kilns. Overall, about 45 minutes to do both and then back on the road.

This place is amazing!There are 3 trails, 2 are about a mile each way (waterfall & lime kilns) and the 3rd is about a 1/2 mile. All are fairly easy with some moderate sections but nothing strenuous at all. We started at the lime kiln which were fantastic. Not what you would expect so far out in the woods and so interesting to see.2nd we did the waterfall which was also gorgeous.Last we did the short trail to the right. It was like being on another planet. Walking next to the creek with small waterfalls every 10-20 feet and walking among the sequoias is awe inspiring.After we walked the very short walk to the beach and had a picnic.$10 entrance fee and worth ever cent.Great place to take a break and stretch your legs on the long and winding coastal highway

This is one of my favorite state parks in the Big Sur area. It is a state park with nice camping and beach activities. It is also a place with a "casual" style - enjoyable and relaxing. On a sunny day we can park our car and be beach side within a few minutes. Its also less popular than Jules Pfeiffer State Park, so often can find parking with ease here.The stunning views of the ocean is so nice. There are also many trails for hiking possibilities; several of which we have enjoyed. There are coastal redwoods in this park.We usually stop on a day trip, but there is a nice campground here as well.

From the south this is the first park where you can experience the coastal redwoods. There are at least 3 hiking trails available. They are relatively short, an easy walk in the woods. Camping area is amongst the redwoods which is cool. Bathrooms are OK. Showers are pay. No handsoap available.

We were lucky enough to grab the "penthouse suite" overlooking the campgrounds and the ocean. The best camping grounds I've ever stayed at, make sure you make your reservation in advanced.

Many trails. A wonderful outdoor experience. Not too extreme hiking...just right for moderate hiking. Lovely nature all around!

Went hiking here and was pleasantly surprised. Quiet place with nice trails. The waterfall at the end is pretty cool.
