MagicalOne of the best concerts we ever attended. At 79 he is is still going strong. If you like his music see him while you still can.
The seating was comfortable. Plenty of restrooms. Good acoustics. A few more signs to find your seating area would be nice but the friendly ushers helped with that.
Conveniently located on the DeAnza College campus this modern theater has great acoustics for musical performances and is also an excellent general theater venue with a vaeiety of programs offered throughout the year.
Unless you really want to suffer the traffic and parking issues at this location, try to go somewhere ELSE to see the venue. I arrived 30 minutes early, and was stuck about a block away due to the fact that they closed off entrances during events to supposedly try to control traffic. But they actually make it much, much worse. The Flint Center is inside a college, so you're fighting for parking from students as well as a major highway exit (HWY 85). If you go to a performance during the week...it will be horrible. You need to arrive one hour early so you can find parking and be on time. Event parking for was $10 cash at entry. When I got back to my car after the event, I got a $45 parking ticket for parking in a STAFF space. The sign said staff parking ends at 7:00PM. I was there at 8:00PM. Go figure. Finding parking was extremely difficult. Everyone in our row received parking tickets. As for the auditorium...it is okay, and the side seats are not that great. But then again, I am short and sat behind a very tall man so my view was obstructed the whole time. I was sitting in the orchestra section. There is not much of an incline for better visibility. The parking fiasco was stressful before the show, and punched me hard at the end. I was told I could contest the ticket, make copies of all my tickets, receipts, and drive back to take pictures of the parking sign, and write a full explanation, and wait and see. Not worth my time...just never go there again.
Been here multiple times because my company has a box and employees can make use of it. Parking is a mess - especially while coming out after the event. Overall the acoustics and ambiance is great.
I have been to this local concert hall a few times, though not recently and have seen a variety of performers there from a symphony to Bill Cosby, Kenny G, George Carlin, et al. All of my experiences were positive with ample parking, comfortable seats and good sound quality. Since the concert hall is large, I recommend getting seats as close to front orchestra as possible, if seeing the performer(s) is important to you.
Great sound, visibility, and an audience that knows how to listen. No cell phones going off, easy access, plenty of parking. A very nice venue.
Recently saw a musical at the Flint Center and was very pleased at not only the surroundings, but the acoustics.
Large, but comfortable with good acoustics. Minor criticism -- no center aisles, only access is from the sides
The way the theater is designed you are not plagued by not being able to see the stage because it is not blocked by the person in front. Seats are really comfortable. Easy to find your seat and plenty of space to pass other seated patrons. Well done!
We got to see the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra here last night, and had mixed feelings about the Flint Center. It's great that they have parking for everyone! Less great that you have to pay for it, even if it's only $5 for the night. I think I'm just spoiled by the omnipresent free parking at Stanford events. We didn't have a problem getting out after the performance, though, which some people seem to have. The entrance to the theatre weirdly faces away from the parking structure, so that all you see of the complex is the plain, concrete side of the building. They do have a refreshments stand, with wine and beer, which is so great and for me, so unexpected at a college event space! But the part I don't think I'll be able to forget is how abominably hot it was for the entire performance. I couldn't put my program on my lap because it would stick to my bare legs. I didn't want my fiance to hold my hand because both of our palms got sweaty immediately. I'm someone who is cold, everywhere, all the time, and I was wearing a very small dress... And all I could think about was how nice frostbite sounded.I would say I'd remember that for the next time I come, but I don't know how much less clothing I could wear! Maybe I'd bring some ice packs...
I planned a date night that included a show at the Flint Center. Initially I anticipated the theater to be a little smaller but the size had no impact on my enjoyment of the show. The sound quality was just right. The only real negative was that I was on the second level and the residual light from the spotlights were annoying. Overall, I really enjoyed the performance and the atmosphere and I would definitely recommend that you see a show here.
