Xanterra staff need to realize that their poor morale affects the quality of stay for their customers.
Very informative park rangers. Unfortunately they don't sell stamps for the postcards. Bring your empty bottles and fill up at the water filter station.
interesting little museum and visitor center. Gives you a nice overview of the area and has a small shop. Good movie the area and then a small museum that tells you more about the flora and fauna of the area
The visitors center is newly remodeled and offers a wealth of information. Park Rangers are there to answer questions and offer advise. Definitely worth a stop.
This place really is just another visitor center. Don't get me wrong, that's a resounding thumbs up in my opinion. I'm a total geek for national parks and all of these places get my juices flowing. The wide appreciated the better than expected toilets and we managed to pick up a few gifts for the family. Top marks.Oh, and the supersize thermometer is fun too...
The Visitor Center at Furnace Creek is full service and meets the high standards typical at the National Parks. There is a good overview movie and a walk through display explIning the Park's geology, history, wildlife and environment. The Rangers and staff were helpful efficient and friendly. They had suggestions on trails to explore and the time to undertake various activities. They also discussed concerns about heat, other risks and the need to protect and preserve the Park without lecturing.
The short movie is excellent and the displays really explain Death Valley. A must visit for the history and geological information.
Free park info and souvenir shop. Restroom stops. If you have the time you could spend an hour or two here to get some historical info on the area.
Information, History, Museum, Gift Shop and bathrooms and a gas station next door. While in the park keep one eye on the gas gauge.
Another whistle stop for us, good clean restrooms with fuel and lunch. Some interesting relics outside dealing with the Borax industry.
The Park Rangers were very nice and professional. They provided great information and wore a smile throughout. This is especially impressive as I'm sure they get asked the same questions over and over throughout the day. The gift shop is small but has some cool stuff at reasonable prices. The restrooms are clean and well maintained. If you have the time, there are different free lectures to attend that are very interesting. Beware the parking lot!!! This is a one-way, however, not all visitors know how to read signs and/or drive American-style. My wife and I almost got ran over three times just getting back and forth to our parked rig. Great place to stop for information, as the name indicates...
This was a good stop in Death Valley. A movie about Death Valley. Interactive displays for the kids and adults, small gift shop. Disappointed that some of the interactive things were missing pieces.
we had our lunch here in the ranch.this is the one and only place inside death valley to stay, to eat to fill gas..
the people were helpful and knowledgeable. talked to them about hikes our group were doing. they had all the info first hand as well as maps.
This is a very nice Visitor Center. The facility appears newer. It has a nice gift shop and museum/educational area. The bathrooms are large and clean. Easy in- and out-access for vehicles. Across from a campground, a gas station, and Furnace Creek Ranch Resort. It is also not too far from Furnace Creek Inn. Centrally located for the geographical sights of the area.
