We have been wine-tasting at Lorimar several times and always enjoy it. We have found some delicious and unique wines here, enjoyed the gift shop and grounds, and will certainly visit again!
Fantastic wines, they are a bit pricey, ask about specials. Kevin is fantastic, we told him the type of wine we liked ( each of us with totally different tastes) and he always picked winners. They have live music outside which is nice, but come for the excellent wines and selection.
Not only does Lorimar have excellent wines, their staff is so friendly and accomodating. The building is beautiful, and they have a great variety of gifts and foods available for browsing and purchasing. If you are a wine club member, you get 20% off your purchases. Their patio is setting makes you feel like you are in Italy as it is surrounded by vines and beautiful plants, trees, and surrounding views. It's a perfect spot to relax on a weekend afternoon, listensing to music, with a glass of one their 1st class wines.
We found a coupon for their wine tasting on the Temecula website that is good on the weekend. Wines were delicious and the wine tasting room in Temecula has a nice sitting area where we could sit and chat.
We visited Lorimar two weeks ago as part of our personalized wine tour with Tom, from Wineormous. We enjoyed our time there and tasted some excellent wines. They had sold out of a few of their red wines so we were given the opportunity to taste several of their reserve wines, which was a nice bonus. They have a nice tasting room and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. We tasted only red wines and enjoyed them all.
Penny is great! She gave us an informative tour of the winery and we had wine tastings along the way. Everyone was friendly and personable even with the crowd, and that sets them apart from other wineries! Thank you Lorimar, we will see you again!
This was the first wine tasting every for my wife and I, and while we at least knew a little bit, we were of course a bit nervous at being a couple of obvious yokels showing up to taste wine.Being early birds we were there 15 mins before opening so we walked around. Beautiful place, and you could see they are developing a section mid a vineyard for weddings, it's going to be stunning when they are done (and stunning view). The couple staff we saw prior to opening seemed comfortable with people wandering around. When they opening we approached and the man checking people in was friendly and told us where to go to begin. We walked in and were rapidly beckoned over by one of the staff, and from them on we were in her care. This despite the fact that they had a big tour in there. Man, this was fun. Lorimar's wines, all I can say is that my wife and I really like most of them. We bought a bottle from this one, very excited.Lorimar is part of the experience that makes my wife and I want to come back to Temecula.
Of the Temecula wineries I have visited, Lorimar truly had the best wines. More care in developing the grape and the crafting of the wines. Reminded me more of Sonoma than Temecula! Definite return here.
I visited the Lorimer winery on my last trip to Temecula. This time I stopped by the loft location in downtown. I can't believe I didn't hear about this place before. It was small but cozy. Renee was very welcoming and by far one of the nicest people I have ever met. We first went on a Thursday night and since there weren't too many people, we had a delightful conversation with Renee. Her customer service alone made my husband and I come back again the next night. Friday night was a lot more crowded but that didn't stop Renee from greeting us and making us feel at home again. My husband and I had a glass of wine and purchased a bottle to take home. As far as the wines go, I love my sweet desert wines. So the Muscat was perfect for me. My husband enjoyed all the red wines. If you have an hour or two and happen to be in the old town area, you should definitely stop by the Loft.
Very nice. The main tasting room was closed for the day but they had another room open. It was extremely hot this day. The only thing that was annoying were the flies due to the heat but this was not their fault. Also, they had an outdoor area but if you wanted an umbrella, you had to stand. If you wanted to sit in the grass area, there was no umbrella and you were in the extreme heat. Kevin helped us and he was exceptionally courteous. At a certain point, I just told what kind of wine I normally drank and he recommended what to taste. He had very good recommendations. Their wine was better than some of the other wineries we went to - but the service and friendliness made it even a better experience. They didn't just pour and walk away. They engaged you. I would definitely go back.
There was just one server at the bar we were at and perhaps he was a bit overwhelmed but didn't share any info and not much personality - pretty much there to pour and check off. But I have been here when the place was packed and still had a good tasting experience. Previously I have left with a couple of bottles but not today.
Nice venue with a gazebo area for weddings, lots of outdoor seating area and live music on Sunday. Instead of the tasting, we decided to take advantage of the $30 for $50 worth yelp deal, and buy a bottle to enjoy outdoors. They were nice and generous, letting us taste different wines before we made our purchase.Good selection of snacks and cute souvenirs too!
Matt was our host and he was a wealth of information. He learned what we liked and served delicious red wines with the skill of an expert. We would return to this charming winery in a second.
What a nice place to visit. Everyone is so friendly in the area. Its was so easy to stop in each place along the way.
The first thing you notice is the beautiful stone building, you hear live music and you smell amazing pizza! The winery truly has it all. We opted for a glass of Zinfadel instead of a tasting. We sat on the patio on a beautifully warm So Cal day in February. We could have spent the entire day here. I will definitely be coming back. The staff was really nice and even though it was really busy, the staff were very friendly and accommodating! The next time we go to Temecula we will enjoy this winery. This place really has it all. Instead of wasting your time at the large wineries go spend some time sipping wine, listening to live music and enjoying the beautiful so cal sun! My only recommendation is they need a lot more sitting areas outside. I can't wait to go back to Lorimar Winery! Cheers!
