Not much to this park. Walkable from town. Don't expect too much. And the atmosphere didn't feel as good as the rest of Solvang.
We made a stop on our way to San Francisco. It was really pretty and as a dane it was really interesting to see how americans thinks that Denmark is :) Overall a great place!
This is in the center of town. If you are part of a group it is great for gathering. Our group met regularly there as it is close to most hotels
I did the mistake that some other people did and that was drive a very very long time to get here so I was expecting almost a mini Disneyland of Danish goodness. I was pretty upset when I got there, ONLY because my expectations were set so high by miscommunication. If you don't expect some big attraction kind of day event than you will love this. It's a couple of streets (3-5 blocks) of mostly bakeries and little knick knock stores that sell wooden objects and interesting little objects. There isn't anything that's really an attraction as far as thing to do besides walk around, eat some great baked goods, and go home. If you are passing by this area stop by! The architecture is so cute! It's almost looks like a fake town because the houses and shops rooftops are so beautiful. A great photo opportunity. It took us about 30-40 min to go to all the shops and bakeries in the town and take photos.
Solvang and it's parts are a real treasure for avEuropean tourist just like for me.I was so happy to spend some hours in "Californian Europe". Great memories! I loved the Hans park.
The park is located next to downtown. It is a good place to stop if you have kids so they can run around a bit. There is a statue of Hans there that provides a great photo op too.
The park is located in the center of Solvang, all the buildings are very beautiful and feels like coming form the fairytale. But the town is very small, and you can just spend about 2 hour to walk around. And there are also couple shops to check out.
Don't expect playgrounds and swings. This is a small part located in the center of the businesses that functions well for a community gathering. In October it was Faerie Fest, in December the tree lighting program to kick off Jule Fest. For the tree lighting program, there were plenty of chair set out so that the community and visitors could enjoy the musical program that preceded the tree lighting. Whatever the time of year, it's a good place to stop and rest before continuing your shopping.
A nice place to take a break in the cozy village.Fine opportunities to plan the rest of the day in Solvang
The park is well located and the tours leave from nearby. It is nice to grab a bike and ride around or just to walk around town
Very well kept park with quite a few tables and PUBLIC RESTROOMS! Every business with a rest room advised they were for customers only.
Not much to see, but a pleasant place to rest between shops. All of Solvang is worth a visit, especially if you love spending time in quint little shops and seeing how unique the buildings are. Love going there and wish it was closer to San Diego.
We spent a great afternoon in Solvang. We had lunch at the Solvang Restaurant, the oldest restaurant in town. It is a very neat town to walk through and visit. We would like to go back again sometime for their festival.
This park is in the middle of town and is a good place for the kids to work off energy or have a picnic without going out of town. It is shady and well-maintained....the restrooms are always clean!!!
Beautiful park nestled in the heart of Solvang. The building facades captivated me and the cobblestone sidewalk was fascinating. The people seem warm and friendly enough. There are a lot of Danish influences and references to Vikings and Hans Christen Anderson, in the names of buildings and squares and blocks and streets to horse drawn wagons and cobbled sidewalks. There are so many impressive diverse stores from needlework to chocolates to antiques, candles and souvenir shops all in this town.
