All-standing club (except VIPs), but as long as you know that, this is a great venue to see a musical act. Small-ish club, the stage is about thigh-high so you're right in the face of the performers. Helps to be seeing amazing musicians, we were lucky to be there on one such night. By the way, the audience on the night we were there was just about the most civil, respectful audience I've seen in a place like this. Sometimes you can get very pushy people, or those that like to think they're being subtle when they take "your" standing spot in the room. There were none of those here, and we were at the very front, prime location. I even had room to dance a little. Very nice night out.
So much smaller than I remember.(So small, wonder why it's still open on that prime real estate)So much more beat-up, dirty than I remember.Great place to see a band...If its not too crowdedSaw Dave Stewart (and friends). It was a great show in a mediocre venue
Just visited the Roxy for a concert by Skylar Stecker. Skylar is a very talented 12 year old who has lot's of young fans. For many in the crowd this was probably their first real concert experience. You would think the staff would change a gear or two and be little kinder with the young audience in the club and act accordingly. It seemed like they treated everyone in the place like it was 2am on a Saturday night although it was 1pm, on a Sunday. If you are going to host younger fans please make the adjustment to make their experience a positive one.
While I couldn't hang out late, my boyfriend went to see Marilyn Manson and had an incredible time! It was great that he was able to get a ticket last minute and enjoy the show.
Best venue ever for catching a show!!! There is no space between the stage and the fans. The door staff was very friendly outside. Inside, it's a small venue but very nice and clean. I enjoyed their setup there. It was very cool.
My husband said it was what he expected. Small venue. If you have a chance to see a band here, you can see them up close and personal with great acoustics. We were here New Years Eve where they had a balloon drop, champagne. No seats of course unless you pay for VIP. If you go to get a drink, you may lose your spot. Drinks are pricey as well. Parking is available as well.
On our recent trip to West Hollywood, my 2 sons and I took in a great show at The Roxy!!!This historical venue proved too be all it lived up to...... We had a great time, great music and the drinks weren't bad either!! Enjoyed the time we spent there and was glad we did!!! I would go back next visit for sure!!
Got to see a Cure cover band at this spot while stomping around on the Sunset Strip. What an amazing venue!
Great time at the Roxy with my god daughter we had a blast. I didnt know that the Roxy was an all ages club very cool expierance to share together.
Great venue for live music! This place has been around for ever and is must see for any serious fan of rock music.
We attended the Buckcherry concert on August 19, 2011. While the bands (3 all together) were great, the experience overall was not what we were expecting.I purchased the tickets online. They were general admission tickets. I contacted the proper person to discuss the possibility of getting the "VIP Package". The lady sold it to me... She told me when our general admission tickets were scanned at the door, the bouncer would be alerted to our VIP package purchase and we would be taken to our table. This was untrue. Our tickets were scanned and we were shuffled in. No big deal. However, when we approached the man guarding the VIP booth section he rudely told us we were not permitted in that area. We tried explaining to him for about 15 minutes that we purchased the package. He basically told us he had no idea what we were talkng about. Instead of finding out for us, he sent us to fight the crowd to get back outside OUTSIDE to the will-call window. The rude, pierced, bored looking girl at the window told us it must have been a scam and that our tickets were general admission and sent us back inside. The guy we had talked to in the first place came out of the back with "the list". He found our name on it and quickly changed his tune with us. He sat us at our booth that had big RESERVED table toppers on them.... with the VIP people's names on them...... Annoying.Having our own waitress was the ONLY benefit to sitting in the VIP section. Our package was for 2 people; we had to jointly spend $150. The lady that talked me into the package said it would not be difficult to spend that with two people, as most people plan on eating dinner at the Roxy... Plus drinks... I figured being in West Hollywood it wouldn't be hard. We got our menus and it was bar food. Mozz sticks, jalapeno poppers, little pizzas. We both settled on chicken strip and fries baskets ($8/basket). Anywhere else, I would have been excited for the cheap food. But that was only a $16 dent in the $150 we were supposed to spend. We had some plush booths to sit in, which was nice. Until they let more and more people into the venue and they had nowhere to go but into the VIP section. So if we sat in the booth we payed $150 for we were unable to even see the damn band! By the 3rd song Buckcherry sang we were sitting on top of the booth's back, against the wall so we could see what was going on. The waitresses struggled to get through to the VIP tables to bring drinks. The only bathrooms were located by the main door. People were unable to even put their arms by their sides because there were so many people in there... making it physically impossible to get to the bathroom.... So in my head, what if there was an emergency? Someone got hurt? Or had a heart attack? Or there was a fire?? Unsafe.Overall, it was not all it was cracked up to be. The people were extremely rude (besides our waitress) and the PR person I talked to about the VIP package was very misleading. The bands rocked, our waitress was nice and the fact that there is history at the Roxy (John Belushi, John Lennon, etc.) was the only thing that made it OK..... However, we will NEVER go back.
Tutto sommato è carino come locale..
