Ordering tickets online has been easy. Quite a mixture of different attractions come through this venue. It's clean and beautiful. Art Garfunkel was the last show we saw at the Cascade. The website for Cascade is easy to explore and picking up tickets the night of the event, will call, has never been a problem. It's the perfect sized-venue, not too small and not too big.
This theater, originally built in the 1930s and restored to its original condition and reopened in 2004, is an asesome example of Art Deco style. From a beautiful lobby sporting a plaster mural; to gold and silver gilded walls and exquisite paintings on the ceiling, the decor itself is worthy of a visit. Add a varied lineup of events including community performances as well as nationally known performers and a variety of special films. Comfortable seating, good acoustics and opulent ambience, what more can one ask for.
We came to see "A Cascade Christmas" and were not disappointed. What a fun evening for the whole family. I highly recommend frequenting the Cascade Theatre when you can.
Cascade Christmas is a Redding tradition featuring local talent. There is singing, dancing and best of all-the ability to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. A must see for everyone. You won't be disappointed!
You will not find a bad seat in this place. Good acoustics and beautiful décor that was saved from destruction. Thank goodness! They serve beverages, the ushers are volunteers and they do a wonderful job. This is totally the whole package - see a show of your choosing here!!!!
Excallent restoration of the old theatre. Usually has sometthing going on from a local dance group to top name shows off Broadway or vegas.Well worth seeing.
Recently renovated in art deco style; comfortable seats with great leg room; excellent acoustics; book a wide variety of talented performers
I have attended this theatre many times, it has this old world charm, that I love, it brings you back to a time, when you came to the theatre with family and friends, on a Sunday afternoon or evening, to enjoy a play, because there was no TV to watch, and you spent more family time. I recommend this place to any one who enjoy the Arts
A gem in Redding's crown. The Cascade Theatre has been lovingly restored to its original grandeur. Spearheaded by Jefferson Public Radio and through local fundraising this theatre even had its paintings on the ceilings restored as paint was scraped off to reveal the originals. Then colors were matched and artists recreated what had been lost. Everything from the carpet to the seating has been completely redone. Then there is the state of the art sound system. Great acoustics! If you've never been, take in a concert, play, dance recital, movie, or attend a private function such as a wedding, class reunion, or church service at this grand lady. You can even stop by the box office and ask for a tour if it's an off day. This truly is a must see in the city of Redding.
Several years ago, a group of citizens got together and organized the renovation of this 1930's art deco-style movie theater. And what a job they did! From the moment you walk into the lobby you are transported into the past. Although movies are no longer shown, the facility is used for concerts, plays etc. And it does an outstanding job of that. With a 999-seat capacity it is much smaller than it's younger and larger sister, the Civic Auditorium, across town, but the acoustics are so much better that there is really no comparison.
This is a wonderful venue, restored and beautiful inside and out. The acoustics are awesome for concerts. In trendy downtown Redding with wonderful bistros all around after the shows. Don't miss this.
This place is one of the most beautiful theaters I have ever been to. They spent a lot of money to restore and they did a fantastic job. The theater gets some big name acts and a variety of acts. There are a lot of places to have dinner within walking distance of the theater. They sell snacks and beer in the lobby however they will not let you take anything but bottled water into the seating area. Really? This is really lame. What is the worst that will happen. Someone spills a beer? Big deal. With the amount of money they could make by allowing this they could clean the theater four times a day. Again lame.....most people want to have a cocktail while watching a concert. The volunteer ushers can be downright rude to people. I have seen this several times. They need better training. Ok enough negatives. It is still a great place to see a show.
We've seen two performers here, Boz Scaggs and Michael McDonald and had a blast on both occasions. Sound is not perfect but there isn't a bad seat in the house. Plenty of places to eat before going there-the Market Street Steakhouse is next door. Get there early for prime parking. Neat, nostalgic building.
Brought back to its original glory, it is a visual pleasure just to sit in this theater. Excellent acts from around the country, the world and locally are presented. Seats are very comfortable. Staff is mostly volunteer and are so enthusiastic, dedicated, friendly and helpful. The sound quality is great. Many performers we have seen there have commented on the sound and how much they like performing there. Go and support this gem!
