Yes, it is a bit expensive, but we love this little museum. It has a brilliant gem and mineral collection, and lots of cool fossils and casts. The replicas are clearly labeled as such. This was our second time here, and it's nice to get off the Interstate and see some really cool exhibits while you stretch your legs. Nice gift shop, too. Be sure to visit the free museum next door for some cool retro stuff you may remember from your childhood.

This dinosaur museum was enjoyable for our family of five. It costs $5 for kids and $8 for adults so we spent a little over $30 which I thought was a little steep for such a small place but if your kids are older or you are just adults visiting then its probably more worth it. Our kids spent about 30 minutes walking around and they loved it but they are twins who are 7 and a little 4 year old so its not an all day or half day event for them but still it was fun and my Dino lover daughter was really the one who enjoyed it the most! I think she would go back everyday if we let her. Its a small museum that is packed with a lot of cool stuff to look at so its a definite must go especially if your kiddos are older. The gift shop was fun too and reasonably priced. Definitely something for everyone!

Privately owned and operated with excellent signage explaining what we were looking at. Book/gift shop well stocked and fairly priced. Very unique and wonderful displays.

The price was a bit high $14/person for what you get, but there are bonuses to this place. They are mostly scans, molds, and casts or the real thing. It was very informative, and you get to see many very pretty rocks, everything is labeled and they have a huge childrens area that is set to the side, so you can enjoy peace and quiet or not, that's up to you. They also have 3 free museums on the same property all of different nature. It is a wheelchair friendly location.

Had great things and was interesting but overall was not worth the price. Gift shop had some great things for kids and will shop there again. Just didn't like the price.

This well done museum is worth a visit. The dinosaurs will intrigue the kids; and the gem collection is excellent. The gems are beautiful and well displayed. This museum while moderate size is worth a visit and paying attention to each of the items is well worth your time. Staff is pleasant and parking is free. There is a small fee for the museum, but worth the price.

This is my least favorite dinosaur museum that I have ever been to but it's not horrible. Really small & not a lot of dinosaur stuff. A lot of rocks, petrified wood, bison, fish, rodent fossils, etc... & poop (really weird & a first for me). I enjoyed the petrified wood, eggs, dark room, & gift shop the most. $8 per adult was too much for the exhibit. Took about an hour.

A remarkable museum. The paleontologist who donated the collection works at the museum and spent a hour guiding us about. The collection spans several geological periods and some of the presentations are unique. Highly recommend.

We ate at kings buffet and decided to walk in the museum, thats just behind it. and very cool and unique, there also a enchanted highway of great farm art that is very cool to see.

If you are driving through Dickinson, this is an interesting museum at which to stop. It is small, but well organized. Bones are displayed in a central pit, not behind glass; and so it has a natural feeling. Photographers: you will need either a flash or high ISO for shots within the museum. A zoom lens is quite useful. There are some dinosaur sculptures outside the entrance which can be used for family snaps. One caution: the impact of the Bakken oil patch is strong in Dickinson. Traffic can be brutal. And accomodations are impossible if you have not made a reservation ahead of time.

I don't understand the 3- & 4- star reviews! This place is awesome. Yes, it's small but if you are willing to learn, read about all the items in the museum and your visit will easily span 1-2 hours. I grew up in Dickinson and visited this museum many times - never got bored of it. The gift shop is great and has many reasonably priced items. The dinosaur museum is a must-see in Dickinson!

This is a small place, but a good place to take the kids. The information provided is good. Right next door is a museum to check out about the city of Dickinson

Very small, but well kept. If the price was a couple dollars cheaper per person it would be a good value. Took my kids and I 15 minutes to see everything, my husband took 30 minutes. Great gift shop.

Nice museum, it is small though, and most items are replica's. I probably would go back, as my son loves dinosaurs.

Dinosaur and mammal fossils take up about 2/3 of the one-room museum just off the interstate. The other 1/3 is cases of mineral specimens. I've seen so many dinosaur museums (husband is a fossil hound) that I'm afraid I can't comment much on this museum's collections because I didn't pay that much attention to them (I'm bored already...). But I thoroughly enjoyed looking at their excellent specimens of various minerals. Each case also had a neat twist--a question card at the front with a teaser question that made you read all the descriptions of the specimens to find out the answer. Well displayed and educational!
