Take the tour through the 5-6 buildings, including a fascinating all-metal home from the 1950s. The main museum isn't much, but the tour gets you into some very interesting original and replica buildings that have been placed on this site.
Occupying several small buildings in a parkland area by the river, this museum is a gem. Forget dark, forbidding halls of tedious exhibits, this is on a very personal scale. See how domestic life really was from the earliest days of the settlement of Grand Forks - walk around a schoolroom - and a frontier post office. There's a wealth of fascinating material here, all beautifully presented. Staffed by local volunteers, it's open from mid-May to mid-September - don't miss it,(One suggestion for the museum - do change your (April 2014) Tripadvisor photograph - there's something very wrong about it)
Every summer we visit the Myra Museum when our grandchildren visit. They love the museum with interesting exhibits, and the surrounding grounds with the Campbell House, Lustron Home, General Store, and gas station. The grounds are beautiful and a visit here is entertaining, educational and relaxing. The museum hosts an ice cream social and an antique car show during the summer. The Grand Forks City Band performs in the pavilion on the grounds, which are also a lovely sight for outdoor weddings.
