Not a bad stop when you are in Fargo. They keep changing the planes up, so always something new to see. I wouldn't call it a "must see" when here, but it is Fargo after all, what else is there to do here.Recommend visiting in the summer months. More do see and do. 2015 will see the Air Show returning, so that is a must then.
I've been here before and the museum is pretty good with a nice variety of airplanes. However, I had family in town and my Grandson really wanted to see some airplanes so I thought we would spend a couple hours there only to find out that the museum was closed from Christmas to New Years. I can understand closing for Christmas and New Years day but not the whole week in between. I would think that they would really want to be open as many locals would have family in town and since there isn't much to do in Fargo in the winter, they would draw in quite a few visitors. I think they are really missing a great opportunity!
Had a nice visit. Loved the variety of the planes. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. They have expanded into another hanger with a B-24 Liberator, a drone and other vintage airplanes.
there is such a large variety of aircraft here, it's amazing that all of them are under one or more roofs. Being a helicopter pilot and having flown a TF-51 any history or aviation buff will value the time they spend here.
They have quite a few " flying" planes. I'm not a airplane buff but my husband is. If you have any interest in aircraft it is worth a stop. The staff was very well versed and accommodating to the both of us. It truly was very enjoyable!!! I'd go again. They have a live air show planned for the summer we will be attending!!!
Unbelievable aircraft in the most excellent condition. The people involved knew the aircraft and gave us a special tour.if you have any interest in these aircraft is well worth your time to go.
Great place to learn and see and take friend, family -- especially grandkids - seeing the planes on display is an eye opener.
This place has a lot of wonderful aviation history. The people here are knowledgeable, friendly and really work hard to create a place that is full of good aviation history. They also keep adding more. I highly recommend this museum.
I brought my 3 and 9 year old there and for the cost to get in we were out with in 10 minutes. Totally not worth it. I remember taking my oldest there about 4 years ago and there was a plane that you could actually walk in and walk around, there was a army jeep that the kids could sit in. We just went last week and holy cow you could not touch anything and there was no plane to walk through. My poor 3 year old who loves planes was so upset because he could not touch or sit in anything. If that is what this is than I would not be charging that much for people to be able to come. Nothing like it used to be it was a joke even my 9 year old who went 4 years ago remembers it being a lot more fun and better. Not worth the money for sure.
very cool place, very clean and lots of old airplanes are on display, we went to a wedding here and it was a perfect setting, they had food catered in from a Greek restaurant which was awesome too, very upscale feel
We felt it was important to stop by and visit one of the area's main attractions. Yes, it is small and the fee may not be deemed appropriate for what you see. However, like many operations such as this one, the dollars from admissions help maintain and expand facilities. It is important to maintain our history. Okay, off the soap box. The indoor display was slightly underwhelming since a wedding was being held the day we visited. The outdoor planes were described to us by a teen volunteer who was very much into the history of the planes. He did a nice job on a very cold and windy day. If you enjoy history, it is worth a stop. If you want a full museum of air history, head to Washington DC.
Discovered this was in Fargo as my 14 year old son and I went to watch his sister in her Freshman year on the NDSU dance team. My son is a HUGE fan of all planes, but he also has tremendous interest in WWII aircraft. We read about what the museum had online the night before and he got more and more excited to go and was willing to get up early to do so! (that says something for a teenage boy!) We've gone to several air museums in other states and to find the Fargo Air Museum was a wonderful surprise and our experience was amazing. The employees were genuinely interested in answering all questions about history, we got to meet the pilot and owner of a P51 (Toby) who spent a long time talking to us. We met two veterans while there; an 88 yr old WWII vet who had sneaked into the military at age 16 and a Vietnam vet. What an honor that was to meet them and thank them for their service to our country. The museum also has volunteers to answer any question you have and it was a really cool experience all around. And many of their planes are actually still flying! The pilot of the P51 was taking a passenger out and we got to see the plane take off! Very excellent experience. Thank you for a wonderful job Fargo Air Museum!
Very well set up and maintained facility with a Corsair, Mustang, Huey copter, an F4 outside and a few other planes. Most were in excellent condition with information displays. If you love planes, worth visiting. Wish they had more planes. I think one was out on loan as well. They are expanding, and a larger collection would be appreciated. An hour is enough time to see what's there.
Very well organized clean and informative. It is a medium sized museum with several great planes on display
Popped in on a whim and decided not to pay the fee. Very small and only a handful of planes. Didn't seem worth the fee.
