You can expect to find just about any plant you need here. A little pricey, but plants are good quality and healthy. The grounds are lovely, so take a stroll. Enjoy a coffee from New Rose Cafe located onsite. The gift shop is AWESOME. Lots of beautiful and unique treasures. Books by local authors too. Be sure to visit toward the end of November when they display all of the Christmas ornaments, gifts, and decor! Gorgeous!!
Bainbridge Gardens is a landmark on the Island with a long history. The staff is friendly and very informative. On more than one occasion we've brought in a clipping from our trees and asked, "what's wrong with this guy?" Their material is not the least expensive, but is high quality and they have good sales. A hidden gem is the Rose Cafe where you can get homemade soups, cookies, milkshakes and espresso drinks to carry around as you explore their collection of cherry trees.
If you have transportation this is a very special nursery to visit on Bainbridge Island. It was started by the Harui family before WW11 prior to their exclusion from the island. The nursery is known not only for their wonderful plants for sale and garden sculptures but also for the community events they host such as the annual Pumpkin Walk through the gardens created by community members and enjoyed by all. Next on their event list is the annual make your own Christmas wreath. The time is free but you will need to purchase the base ring at a very reasonable cost and make reservations for your free 2 hour time block to use the equipment. I encourage you to bring your own greens if you have them available but they will also have greenery to purchase if you don't. Their delightful gift store always carries items you can also attach to your wreath. They will ship your wreath to you or to a friend or relative for their own snif of the Northwest. Yes, this can be great fun for a family, friends or solo. While our wreaths weren't "professional looking" our first year, friends and I had an awesome afternoon!be sure to check out their website and read their newsletter online. Time slots fill up quickly so don't ponder too long as November will be here soon!
