This bridge replaced a very old bridge from West Bremerton to Manette. I find it a great way to cross over water without getting wet. The bridge is adequate in all ways, smooth pavement (new).
Sorry folks this was a useless waste of taxpayer $$ dont get me wrong it looks great and is a smidge wider but you are going to have to convince me the old bridge was a problem . It was built when cars were wider and bigger and had minimal problems I just wonder whose pockets were lined with the spending.....WE need other roads who are traveled more fixed>
This is a beautiful little bridge to walk over bike over or drive over to get to the lovely little community of Manette, that has great food and wonderful businesses, antiques, jewlery, weel worth the 2 miuntes it takes to get there.
It's a bridge. Gets you from point A to point B. This new bridge has wider lanes and a foot path that's safe. Tax money seems to have been well spent!
This replacement of the old bridge turned out to be better looking than I thought it would be with Art Deco designs and a graceful look, not just a slab of concrete. The lights they chose for it go well with the design of the bridge as well.
Take to go into local Bremerton. Good antique and restaurants. Try the Bridge Restaurant. Live locally owned businesses.
Walking across this bridge on a clear day is really an amazing short journey; if you go early enough be sure to get a pastry from Larry and Kristi's (they sell out fast...) on the east side of the bridge.
I was so glad when this new bridge was built--it's sturdy, easy to travel over, and so much prettier now than the old bridge. We've gone across it every day and always see something new in the water--whales, boaters, barges, ferries, submarines, and big ships. The view from the bridge is outstanding and on a sunny day it's fun just to stand on the sidewalk watching the water, boats passing by, people, and enjoying the weather. The lights on the bridge are very stylish and look so pretty at night. It is fun to stand on the bridge during the 4th of July fireworks celebration--great views!
The new bridge provides pedestrians with an extra wide path that connects Manette to downtown Bremerton. Walking across the bridge you get splendid views of the water, the USS Turner Joy, Port Orchard, as well as adorable Manette. There is a cute little sitting area on the Manette side to sit and rest and let the dogs play, everyone over there is always incredibly friendly.
Walked across it twice. Ex-USS Turner Joy is near and beneath it. The first restaurant you see is a good one, sort of a bistro. Fun adventure while on business at Puget Sound.
Recently built bridge that connects Bremerton to Manette. In Manette there are lovely homes that overlook the lake and are an easy walk from Bremerton.
This is a beautiful n bridge that has gorgeous views. Great for the photographer in you. Beautiful snow capped mountains one way and boats on the water the other. Walkable fro the ferry.
We crossed this bridge several times during our trip to Bremerton. We enjoyed the views! Maybe next time we will walk across it, that would be neat.
Much better since they built the new bridge. The views of the Puget Sound and surrounding area are beautiful.
I live in Manette and make the drive over the new bridge very often. The old was nice for the "antique" look and all but scared me to drive over it if a bus or truck was coming at me. I would not drive over if I saw a bus or truck on the other side coming. This is a pleasure to cross now. It is safe to walk on and bike on as well. You can view Port Orchard, Ferry boats come and go as well as Navy ships and other sea vessels from the walking side.
