I took my mom here for Mother's Day. I booked a class for the two of us. We each made a glass float and a glass vase/bowl. Our experience was incredible. The teachers were patient and helpful while providing a completely hands on experience for us. I can't wait to return.
We are so fortunate to live just a short drive from Opal Art Glass Studio and Gallery and have gradually filled our little beach house with their beautiful, one of a kind works of art. We stop by every few weeks just to see what's new (and to play with their dog Abbey)!Johnny & Darlene graciously welcome onlookers and take the time to answer any questions you may have. They even offer glass blowing classes - no prior experience necessary - what a great gift for the artophile in your life! Next time you're headed to Ocean Shores or Westport take the time to stop by Opal Art Glass in Cosmopolis. . . you'll be glad you did!!
They "rock" the glass here...I have bought, bartered, and begged for their blown glass. Johnny and Darlene are the nicest people on the Harbor. The beautiful blown glass in their showroom speaks talent equal to the masters of time. I like that when I come in to visit there is always a project in the works. Johnny and his apprentice Justin always take the time to explain what they're working on and process it takes to complete the piece.
We visited the Opal Art Glass Glassblowing Studio and Gallery after reading about it in the Chamber of Commerce tour guide. We are so glad that we made the short drive from Olympic National Park to see it. The owners Johnny and Darlene Camp were very friendly and invited us into the studio where they were working. They offer classes, and have a vast selection of items in their shop, in various price ranges, as well as available custom work. We purchased a beautiful paperweight and vase, and plan to order more items as gifts. They offer handcrafted wooden "light boxes" to set the paperweights on, which truly showcase their fine work, and the various colors they use. We were particularly impressed with the variety of techniques they use to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
