We stayed at the Clarion Hotel right across from the Commons shopping area. It was great. There are numerous stores from large national chains to small private shops. The restaurant variety is outstanding. Something for everyone. I especially enjoyed seeing the raised bed community gardens! What fun. The vegetable were very tempting and if we had time we would have tried a game of chess on the oversized playing board built right in the middle of the area. What fun! Congratulations to the community planners who put this together.
It doesn't matter if you are taking a class, or just going for family swim times: It's a great place to be and always getting better.
This is one of those places that's great if you hit it on the right day. For adults and seniors, daytime when school is back in session is best. During the summer the pool is nuts with kids and families. Great facility. Good indoor walking path - especially when it's rainy outside. If you could rate things differently, I'd go with 3.5. It's better than average, but not quite in the "very good" category.
Love this place. Classes, including art classes for adults. An amazing pool, with a slide, current section so you can walk against the current or float with it. Adult times so you can work out without a dozen screaming banshees. Kids are usually reasonably supervised by parents.
The leisure pool was a great hit with our 9 and 6 year olds! The best thing was that the water was WARM! Thank you, Federal Way Community Center! Warm water to play in makes a huge difference. The leisure pool has a large water slide, a nice lazy river with inner tubes, a shallow area with play / spray structure for the little ones, a deeper area with basketball hoop, and a big hot tub. We bought the affordable ($8 adults, $5 teen/Senior, $4 youth) daily pass which they said would be good for all day to enjoy the facility. The leisure pool session started at 11:00 a.m. and the kids were ready to leave by 1:30 p.m. We brought our lunch, and supplemented it with items from the nice coffee / snack bar. We went during Spring Break and the pool was a bit crowded, but it wasn't bad. There were lots of lifeguards. We traveled from Olympia because it seemed like the closest indoor play pool. We'll be sure to return!
