Worth the stop to walk along the pier and take in the beautiful views. On a clear day you may get a great view of Ranier.
The park is in the middle of downtown right on the water. Plenty of available free parking along the streets. there is always something going on several nights during the week.
A wonderful place to take the children or go for a family outing to picnic. Always friendly people around the the area is very relaxing.
Not much to do but good location and easy free street parking near shops. We went when a farmers market was happening but it was small. Public restrooms available.
Skansie park is right on the water in Gig Harbor. At adjoining marinas you can rent kayaks and paddle boards. There is a huge gazebo that serves as the (summer) venue for evening concerts on Tuesday nights. Also during summer there are flea markets on Wednesday and Saturday. If you want to relax you can sit and watch all the boats go by. It is truly paradise!
You can't miss it, it is the heart of Gig Harbor and is host to a plethora of wonderful community events - concerts, movies, farmers markets, art festivals.... Not to mention the community dock that gives you a wonderful view of the harbor and the chance to check out visiting & local boats.
It is the best, multipurpose trail in the area. You can walk, bike or pick blackberries in the multiple spots. No need to watch for cars such as when walking on side of the road. You will meet many friendly people using the trail with their pets, kids, friends or alone.
Any time of year is enjoyable at the park - summer concerts and outdoor movies, watching the kayak team practice, picnicking, Christmas tree lighting and carols, checking out the sea life ...so much to do you are limited by your own imagination.
This little park has a nice view of the Harbor in a picturesque setting. It is within easy walking distance of almost any parking spot in town.
This nice little park is right on the water and close to shops and restaurants. It is very small and does not have swings or other play equipment for the kiddos. It is a great place to sit and enjoy an ice cream and the view of the harbor. Fun to walk out on the dock and see the boats and sea life. This park is also the home of Tuesday night concerts and Wednesday farmers' markets in the summer months.
I've been here several times and to several "events" that were hosted here. It's really quite lovely and sometimes there are movies sponsored by Gig Harbor
