A real piece of Skagit history. The Gaches mansion (a stunning Victorian) is lovely and was remodeled well. The quilts were very cool too! They have some very old ones as well as new ones on display. Changes frequently.

Even if you aren't interested in quilts the textiles in this museum are incredible art and it's all laid out in a beautiful historic mansion. It's completely worth a visit!

Went here to see the traveling show of renowned Kaffee Fassett quilt maker textile designer and wasn't disappointed. Well curated, lovely historic building, knowledgable docents. Amazing show.

The Victorian home that houses the quilts is beautiful. We were fortunate to see an exhibit of quilts by Japanese quilters. It was a lovely show. If you are a quilter you would enjoy this museum. There is a small gift shop upstairs with some interesting

As if one needed an excuse to visit LA Conner the Quilt and Textile museum has some of the most exquisite work I have ever seen. An additional bonus are the women there that also give you so much history of the original owner of the house and history of LA Conner.

We love learning the history of old homes like this and enjoy quilts, so were looking forward to visiting here. We did enjoy the quilts on display and the work they have done in restoring this mansion but were disappointed in the lack of information available on the history of the house itself. We realize it is a quilt museum, but feel they are really missing an opportunity to tell the story of this beautiful house as well, thus the average rating.

The view of the water from the third floor tower is excellant. The mission of the La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum is to collect, preserve, and exhibit local, national, and international quilts and textiles; to provide an educational experience; and to preserve the historic Gaches Mansion.

Some stunning quilts on show from Japan, when we were there. The house has an interesting history that was explained to us by the volunteers that keep the place going.

This was a 2 for 1 visit. The Gaches Mansion that houses the quilts is a beautifully restored home and the historic overview that is presented is very interesting. The antique quilts displayed on the main floor are a perfect fit. The exhibit on the second floor expands the idea of quilts and the exhibition of Marianne Burr's work on the third floor explodes the traditional quilt model! Very unique museum and as most museums, there is an outstanding giftshop. Would live to return again to see future shows.

The museum is located in a super cute little town and in an 120 year old house. You can literally feel and taste the good old days. The stairs are squeezing and several rooms are filled with old furniture and requisites. It's a small museum but I really enjoyed it

The museum is housed in the historic Gaches Mansion which is beautifully restored historic building which makes a tour twice worth the admission. The building is four stories high and there are quilts everywhere. Ranging from their own collection, to rotating exhibits. This visit was a first visit and I was able to view their recent acquisition, Suzanis & Crazy Quilts - as well as two floors or modern art quilts by Marianne Burr. It was quite an amazing collection.Quilts by local artists can be found on sale and do not miss the museum gift shop. Parking is free on the street or $3.00 in a public lot around the corner. Since it is a historic building, ADA access is limited. There is elevator access only to the first floor but they do provide audio-visual viewing of the higher floor exhibits.

This museum is wonderful. The building is historic and the quilts are always amazing. They go out of there way to have Nationally recognized artist exhibits in addition to there own collection.

I'm not especially interested in quilts, but the ones on display here were truly works of art. There are some older pieces but most were modern creations you would hang on the wall rather than throw on a bed. Equally interesting is the Gaches Mansion, the beautifully restored home that houses the museum.

Very nice display of quilts, some in the permanent collection, some on exhibit temporarily. The building is very interesting as are some of the period furnishings. The price seemed a little high but they need the support.

I live in No Seattle & we visit this super museum 2-3 times a year, and am never disappointed! Fabulous quilt exhibits with amazing stitching and a variety of styles and artists. Located in the historic well preserved 3 story Gaches mansion furnished in fine antiques. Definitely worth a stop & right around the corner from the main drag in La Conner. Ample free parking. For seniors: there are stairs to navigate. Great gift shop with lots of exotic fabric pieces, beads, books, art, etc to tempt the stitcher in me, always get a swatch! My husband enjoys this museum too. Small fee.
