A fun, funky old collection of antique games. You can see Jake the Alligator Man, lots of old coin operated arcade games from the 1900's. Also lots of cheesy touristy type stuff for sale.
Full of junk, plastic crap. Some interesting historic items. A few gems scattered in mothball neglected broken down old stuff. Worth 15 minutes of your time if you don't mind wading thru a whole lot of things that should have been dustbinned long ago. Enjoyed the selection of ancient fortune telling machines.
Neat little store in town with a museum which includes oddities,i.e. two-headed calf; jake the alligator man (I thought he was in Ocean Shores?); etc. The shrunken head was kind of cool too. There are antiques for sale, a little on the spendy side. It is always crowded and very hot in the store. We were saddened that a lot of the old machines were out of order. I can remember when they all worked. Not a good place for little children. It's small and cluttered with racks and such.
This place is actually a tourist store that is RIFE with curios like old weapons on display to skeletons!Do not miss if you are an old-fashioned vending machine from the early 20th century buff!!If you like Ye Old Curiosiity Shoppe in Seattle, you'll LOVE this place!A trip to Long Beach would not be complete without going here!
Oh, Marsh's. How I delight in you. Every possible souvenir, shot glass, shell, sweatshirt, one could want, with a strange little museum to boot. It's a favorite location when I visit the peninsula.
if you are anywhere near long beach you must visit Marshes - from Jake the Alligator boy to every Penney arcade contraption known to man and lots of stuff between it is truly a museum of oddities and other cool stuff
Whenever we visit Long Beach we have to stop in Marsh's Museum. It is so much fun to look around. There many interesting antiques to check out and the alligator man. Some of the gifts in the shop are unique so you have to stop in a take a peek. Very engaging!
I've been going to Marsh's since I was a little girl and I STILL go in from time to time. Especially on those stormy days at the beach, you can kill an hour or two in there just looking at all the weird and wonderful things this little town store has. You have to peruse slowly or you'll miss something! If you go to Long Beach, you HAVE to go into Marsh's if only to see Jake the Alligator Man!
We stopped here as a place to see from the ads and my wife went here when she was a kid. There are lots of antiques out front and all sorts of wierd things inside like the Aligator Boy. There are all kinds of historic slide show machines and nickle and quarter game a seeing machines. There are even painted Hermit Crabs for sale. The prices on souveniers are comprable to other places in town. It is a fun cool place to stop.
Lots to see and usually requires more than one visit to see it all. Many antiques to buy! Glass floats and old stuff everywhere!
Every time my husband and I visit the Long Beach Peninsula we have to go to Marsh's Free Museum. This is a wacky, eclectic "not really a museum" gift shop. Don't miss seeing Jake the alligator man. They have jewelry, games, toys, clothes, candy, antique dishes, wind chimes, shells and many more fun and interesting finds.
It was great, had to go back more than once. Lots to see and buy. Very entertaining as well. Would recommend to friends and family.
A good old curiosity shop and museum. You can spend a couple of hours here easily. Even has a "shrunken head".
Not a good place to take small kids with wandering hands. Small aisles, packed shelves and full floor to ceiling things to look at. They have every weird kind of disfigured animal, old fashioned games, music players, salt water taffy, souvenirs, trinkets...you name it. It is a cool place to see a one eyed lamb, 2 headed calf, etc. It's 4th generation run so there is a lot of history. Just make sure you watch your kids and they don't break anything!
This is a fun store to look around and view the artifacts. It's worth seeing when in town. They have some antique items, some cool souvenirs for purchase and a mermaid figure similar to the PT Barnum mermaid. This is a fun place to visit.
