If you are visiting the North Cascades, Washington Pass is a MUST SEE! The overlook is easily accessible, and the views are spectacular.

At most "overlooks", you just pull off in a parking area and look out at a pretty view. Leg-stretcher time and a quick snapshot. But, this Overlook at Washington Pass was delightful! You could walk around on a trail-a couple different options-and take in the scenery all around you. You absorb the atmosphere of the mountains and feel their magic, right there off the highway. There is a spot where the trail goes over a rocky area and makes you feel like you are actually on an adventure more than just a quick stop to take a snapshot. A very well-done overlook---thank you, State of Washington.

Just a couple of minutes away from the North Cascades Highway and a 2-3minutes trial from the parking lot. But the view is awesome with beautiful hill tops surrounding us and the view of the High way beautifully travelling through the mountains.

GO NOW! Best part of the Cascades, right here. The trail to the top, is short and easy and there is plenty of places to stop and take pictures. And boy, do you want to bring your camera! The views of the Cascades are just breathtaking from every angle!!! The colors in the mountains and the jagged edges are everything you see in the pictures, but the pictures don't do them justice. To stand before them and see how wonderful they are is just amazing. Please do this trail, you won't regret it!

You just have to see this place to believe it. For those that rate this less than excellent, I'd really like to travel wherever you go because this is darn near the top of my list of scenic places. You do have to get out of thecae and walk a couple of minutes to see the best views.

This is a nice spot to stop and take in some beautiful mountain views. There is a short paved trail that takes you to a few vistas.

This pull off is an exceptional way to see the rough Cascades without hiking. Make sure you have a camera. There is ample parking and bathrooms that are really clean. There is a clearly marked path that most people can enjoy and get views of our highest mountains. You will see Liberty Bell Peak and other views of the Cascades.By car you are at 5500 feet up (more than a mile), which is the highest point on Route 20.

If you only stop one time when driving hwy 20, make sure it is here! This stop has a great parking area and very nice, easy trail up to the top where you will see some of the best views to be had anywhere in the U.S. I have been a Washington resident my entire life, and have been around the world (including the Swiss Alps), and I am always amazed at how stunningly beautiful this transition point from Western to Eastern Washington is.Once at the top of the outlook (actually a fairly large area among scattered alpine firs), you have so many breath-taking views, you'll not know where to begin, and you won't want to leave. This place is entirely serene and exhilarating at the same time. Wander atop the mammoth rock surfaces and marvel at the range of views from Liberty Bell Mountain and Early Winters Spires to the road far, far below. If the sun is at your back, you can actually cast a shadow to what looks like 1,000 feet to the valley road below. Truly an amazing place, and alone worth a drive from Seattle!

It is a must do in North Cascades. We stayed at Marblemount and from there it is a 1 hr drive. The trail is very easy and short but gives spectacular views of all the peaks on the eastern side of the park.

For anyone traveling the North Cascades Loop, the most jaw-dropping views are at the Washington Pass Overlook. It appears that there used to be a very nice facility but it is now closed and only an ordinary toilet replaced it. There wasn;t a sign so we had to find our way, but the trail leads away from the parking lot in the opposite direction from the closed building. For those of us who get a bit squeamish with hights, be assured that the views are just as spectacular several steps back from the railing. The main viewpoint is a barren rock jutting out from the mountainside with just a straight drop down. Be sure to follow the trail around for views in other directions, also.And a very pleasant stop is to walk the Happy Creek Trail also off Hwy. 20. Its all boardwalk, mostly along the happiest gurgeling little brook in a very old forest. Only 3 tenths of a mile long and very relaxing.

We stopped at this Overlook on our journey from Winthropp to Seattle along the North Cascades Highway.It was breath taking view from the Look Out with Highway 20 Underneath and the Mountains over looking.There are a few Picnic Tables to rest on the base of the trail which takes you to the post.There are no sign boards indicating how far is the look out post andthe nature of trails.In fact some elderly couples enquired from us on our return about the nature of the approach.The Approach to the main look out post is an eay paced one from where you can have a good view of the Pass.If you want you can go further and explore where trails are alittle steep.It is a free attraction not to be missed if you are passing through the cascades as such a view is hard to get and experience elsewhere,

There are some excellent viewpoints from the overlook. There are also plenty of places to pull over on the North Cascades Hwy at Washington Pass. We drove through the pass a few times on our trip and the views never get old.

It was really lovely, with many different vistas! The only thing hanging on the information board was a warning about how not to leave any valuables in your vehicles because there have been a lot of thefts reported. There was a picnic table available.

With the highway 20 underneath and majestic cascades spanning across your line of view, you feel the goose bumps at first sight.

We stopped here around 5pm last July and were amazed at how beautiful it was. Unfortunately I don't have any shots I am willing to share because the late afternoon sun washed out everything. I have to think it would be better in the morning. Even in July there was quite a bit of snow on the mountaintops. There are bathrooms here.
