We were in the staying in Ocean Shores we went out to the park to check it out for camping. We camp in a 30 foot travel trailer wanted to see how the sites looked. The sites here are mostly in low lying ground causing them to have a lot of standing water and mud. Would be a good place in the summer when it's not raining.

My wife and I stopped here on a day trip through Ocean Shores. Pretty neat place to explore and large enough to spread out. I imagine in summer the place is very, very active but the day we were there we observed few visitors. We had fun, despite the windy conditions.

My husband and I bring our 32 ft. Travel Trailer to this park frequently in the "warmer" time of the year (above 50 Degrees). They offer Full Hook-Ups and have a Dump Station. Rates are decent, plenty of Pull-Thrus and back-ins. Very enjoyable! Day-use Area has shelters for picknicking and a trail thru the Dunes to the Beach.

Spent two nits at this wonderful Washington State Park. Excellent beach access for kiting and walking on the sand. Very good full service RV site, within the trees! We will be going back many times!

You can access the beach and drive on the beach! Very busy place with people doing all kinds of things - barbecuing, flying kites, making sand castles, playing with their dogs, etc. Pro tip - beware horse droppings on the beach.

No handicap-accessible toilet facilities anywhere in this park. So sad. Don't the parks belong to us all?

After planning a special trip for my daughters here was so disappointed by the horrible staff that checked us in a incredibly rude older white woman who acted as if she hated the fact she was there and I was a complete inconvenience as we checked in despite the fact that everything was a normal check in.....I have stayed at several of Washington's state parks over the years and have never met someone that so obviously loathed there job .....after paying extreme season rates, discover pass parking for the park (how is that not included ) parking at the site even though the cars fit with plenty of room, and wood $50-for 6 cooking fires we decided renting a house would have been much cheaper we would have had a tad bit of privacy something which the park lacks all together and we would not have had to worry about the dozen or so idiots we saw going the wrong way 20-30 miles and hour over the speed limit thru the sites (one almost hit a woman with a baby in a stroller it was awful) or the awful staff.....as someone that's gone to the Washington coast every year almost for the last 30 or so years including this same park, I was disappointed by the experience and while the girls had fun I will never ever return or recommend it again.....instead get a nice little place on the beach in copalis ocean shores or any another small local community and drive the short way to any attractions you want to see ...you will be glad you did....all in all they kept it pretty clean but the rude staff, the total lack of privacy, the long walk to the beach , the extra fees, and the lack of rangers handling multitude the speeding wrong way drivers I saw made it the worst camp spot I have ever been....

I stayed here on a Friday night and had a pleasant stay. The campground was clean and well maintained and the staff pleasant and friendly. The other campers were quiet and I slept well.As usual in a State Park the sites are well spaced out. The four loops are quite different so you will need to pick what you prefer. The amount of privacy depends on which loop you get. Loop 1 is mostly grass with not many trees and shrubs and a big grass area in the middle. I saw a lot of people, both kids and adults, taking advantage of the open space to play. I saw all kinds of balls and Frisbees in use as well as swarms of kids on bikes and foot. Loop 4 is the only loop with utility hookups (there is a dump station for folks in the other loops). The sites in Loop 4 are also longer and can accommodate larger RVs. Loops 2 and 3 have more trees and shrubs and less grass with smaller sites. When I checked in there was a lady complaining that there was no cable or wifi. What does she expect in a State Park? There are several private campgrounds within a few miles and if she wants cable she should go there. I'd rather not have it and pay a bit less. The beach is long and sandy and not that crowded. You can walk from the campground loops or drive to the day-use area and walk less far. People tend to cluster around the access points so if you walk a bit you can have solitude. They do close some loops down in the winter. Many of Washington's oceanside areas have drainage problems in winter and I suspect this is no different. There are several different prices depending on how nice a site it is and if it has utilities. The showers require tokens (two tokens for 3 minutes). They have to be purchased in advance so think ahead. The day use area is free if you are camped, otherwise a Discover Pass is required.

This is one of the only State Parks on the North Beach, is always packed full of people. Go north to Pacific Beach for a smaller more initmate atmosphere

Very nice and spacious fairly private campsites right near the beach near Ocean Shores. Used a full hookup site and found the condition of the camping pad and utilities top notch. The beach is right over the dunes. Full bathroom with hot showers are clean and well kept Good camping spot on the coast!

Very swampy and run-down. This State Park really shows its age and lack of funding. Best place to stay is Ocean City RV Resort which is north of Ocean Shores about 5 miles.

I went summer 2012 and it was gr8!!! i brought my 2 youngings and husband. I had a blast even with a four and five yr old. Bathrooms were clean , wood guy was so nice he carried the wood to the camp site from his truck and it was cool because he was like a ice cream man. At night it was nice and quiet . the beach was a blast and pretty. My mom came and visit and they made her pay 10 dollars for parking but its ok because it help the park:) its a must do again.

I cannot express how much fun I allways have at this park! It's so green and fresh, we allways camp with two dogs & in tent, last time we brought a bad-minton set and nearly every site had more than enough foom for our SUV, large tent and the net to be set up away from the fire pit and picnic table. also we went in off-peak-season so there were so many different kinds of sites available it was hard to choose! The showers are token-op' but have heated water and we were there to see a deep clean in action which was very reassuring! and they offer bio-degradable doggy-bags at every restroom so you don't have to worry about what to use to clean up after your animals.Even if we can't stay to camp, the day area is nice too. I considered having a party there once because of the parking, grassy areas, short walk to the beach and mulitple, covered picnic tables, but we had to make other plans for personal reasons.not sure what time in summer those pics were- when we go in summer it's not quite so wet in the dunes..

Long, flat beautiful beach to stroll along. Drive up with your car and dip your toes in the cold Pacific.

A lovely short trail from the parking lot to the beach, across the sand dunes and through the unique beach foliage. Miles of seclusion, wind and ocean...
