Love strolling along Percival Landing before sunset to relax and unwind or to capture amazing photos. This is my favorite scenic place in downtown Olympia!
Choose a clear day, best spot to take a stroll. Make it a bit longer walk and wrap around Capital lake.
On a clear day, it's a great walk along the water, with a view of snowy mountains, kayakers, and the Capitol. Keep an eye out for seals and otters. Climb the wooden observation deck for a great view.
My wife and I consistently head downtown to Percival Landing to walk the boardwalk and take in the bay view. A great walk for the doggies as well. The park has a nice open grass area for ultimate or just running around with kids. You can walk down towards the farmers market and see the boats as they come into the bay. Lots of activities In Close proximity to the park. A fine Oly destination.
This area is nicely cleaned up and landscaped with lots of activity for adults and children. We enjoy the summer events held in this area because it's a nice size space so you don't feel crowded.
If you like walking along the water this is the place to go, we love to walk from the market all along the boardwalk and back. Fun to people watch as well and fun to check out the anchored boats.
Percival landing is the best place in Olympia for locals and visitors experience the best of downtown. There's great scenery, the harbor, the Olympic Mountains, the Capital, and Budd Bay are all within view. It's close to restaurants, the Farmers Market, coffee shops, and stores.
Park your car down town near the Olympia Oyster house and enjoy a jaunt down the boardwalk by Marinas, open air art, seaside play area for children, historical plaques, restaurants, and a gathering area for events. Climb the wood viewing tower to see the working part of our wharf where ocean going cargo ships dock & load. One can enjoy a very good view of the Olympic mountains and Puget Sound as well.
Lots of restaurants line boardwalk. Views of boats, connects nocely to downtown and walking path around Capitol Lake.
Absolutely beautiful walk along the boardwalk which surrounds Budd Bay, they farthest reach Puget Sound reaches South. This lovely marina area is landscaped, and enjoyed by the whole community as well as all the boaters frequenting the marina. Childrens' play area is first class, and the restaurants abound along the boardwalk. Perfect for couples, families and especially dogs!!
good place to spend the afternoon with a friend, listening to music atthe port, have a nice diner at Anthonys Restaurant-went to the saturday market and bought some food and produce
This is nice little place to hang out and walk to when you done having something to eat from near by places. They have a cool little spot for kids to play at if you wanted to sit and watch the local boaters comming back from the sound or heading out. The summers are the best, nice and cool with a breeze, they usually have little events going on that you can easily stop at and check it out.
Lovely views, right on the waterfront with shops and the Olympia Farmers Market to explore. Definitely a place to go when you are in Olympia.
Classic boats, wooden tug boat you can actually tour. "The Sand man " 100 years old, open most days for a tour. Great history of Oly. Fair like atmosphere, nearby restaurants. There is also nearby walking trail.
We've been a few times here to enjoy the fresh air and to people watch. Easy to grab a coffee or a bite to eat any time. At weekends added attraction of Farmers Market and free parkingLast year we took the opportunity of visiting the "Sandman", a historic barge which looks like it is being refurbished by the docents for upcoming season, a big piece of local maritime history and worth a visit.Wonderful ambience and a short stroll to downtown OlympiaI noted other contributors comments re local kids, transients.I've seen some too on occasion but generally they keep to themselves and any responsible parent should not feel intimidated and under supervision let their kids enjoy the park playground and boardwalk.
