We had a wonderful time sailing the bays around Orcas Island with Ward, who gave us a little instruction and allowed us to steer and assist with the sails. A beautiful older boat that got up to over 5 knots on occasion, outstanding views, lots of interesting information and history shared by the captain, great closeups of some seals and birds, and all in all a great peaceful experience.

We bought the Groupon for this sailing trip as it seemed like a really great deal. We had family arriving from out of state and wanted to show them a good time. Well, this adventure was amazing! It was a gloriously sunny day and the islands were a spectacular sight to see! The captain was very knowledgeable and personable. He even let us each take a turn steering the boat! I would highly recommend this trip!!!

Ward showed us around the bay of Deer Harbor and San Juan Island. He let me steer and gave each of us a job to do. The boat ride was informative and inclusive. He was casual and friendly and we all felt at ease. The view was amazing in the day was gorgeous. This trip was definitely worth the time and energy to get out to the island. We went for my sisters bachelorette party and he made it special. The boat itself is beautiful as are the islands around it.

We were lucky enough to sail with this experienced Captain on his vintage sail boat. Ward was accomodating and informative on everything from aboard ship to the Islands, nests, seals... a great way to see the Sound and outer islands. Definately recomend Ward and his beautiful ship, we are grateful to have had that day at sea with this kind man.

We had a fabulous time on this trip with Northwest Classic Daysailing. Ward was generous in his time and attention and made the trip totally relaxed and enjoyable. He knows his sailing and is willing to share his knowledge so that you can have a little experience at sailing. I would highly recommend this trip to all, adults and kids alike.

Capt. Ward made my first sailboat ride one to remember!!! He was very knowledgeable and easy going!!! My girlfriend and I want to take up sailing and Capt. Ward helped us realize that dream may be just too easy to come true!!!

My family and I spent a great afternoon of sailing with Ward Fay on his sailboat out of Deer Harbor. Ward was waiting for us on the dock and ready to go when we arrived. It was a beautiful afternoon and Ward was very informative about the areas that we sailed. He pointed out eagles, seals and even a osprey nest in the trees. My 11 year old granddaughter was allowed to steer the boat for a while and we even helped with the sails. He was fun to talk to and listen to his stories of the San Juan Islands. This was a real treat.

We went on a morning cruise around the islands and had a wonderful time. Ward was very friendly, knowledgable and laid back. He let us steer and assist with the jib most of the time, providing supportive guidance along the way and stepping in when necessary. Ward Fay is a knowledgeable captain and interesting individual who shares local color and history along with his knowledge of the flora and fauna of the area as you enjoy your sail through the waters around Orcas Island. We had a delightful four hour sail and would recommend the experience to anyone who is lucky enough to be in the area.

Our family of four truly enjoyed sailing with Ward this week. His sailboat is beautiful! I was mostly impressed by Ward's patience to teach my two sons (ages 8, 10) how to sail the boat. He let them run the sailboat for the entire ride. They LOVED it. Thank you Ward for sharing your boat with us and giving our sons a memory that will last a lifetime.

Exploring the islands from the sea is the only way to truly appreciate their beauty. Captain Ward was laid back, experienced and very hospitable. He gave simple sailing instructions and let us all try a hand at sailing. We would highly recommend this adventure and can't wait to return. Be sure to bring a light lunch. Once on board, sit back and take in the amazing scenery. Calming, tranquil, majestic, just some of the words used to describe our day.

We had a great afternoon on the water. Sailing in the San Juan Islands is fantastic. Ward is an excellent sailor and a pleasure to hang out with. As others have mentioned, he is very laid back and let us do as much as we wanted and gave the right level of instructions to make it a fun experience.We encountered a pair of Eagles hunting in the water, lots of seals and all kinds of birds, not to mention to amazing scenery of the San Juan Islands from the water.We'll definitely go out with him again on our next visit.

Had a great time; saw lots of seals, hawks, eagles, vultures circling up high, beautiful sights. Highly recommend it. Captain Ward is friendly and informative about the islands and the people on them. Would definitely recommend. There were four of us and we brought lunch to eat on the boat. Great relaxing day on the water!

We took this day sail July 2013, and again for the second time this past weekend and really enjoyed it. Captain Ward Fay is a pleasure to be aboard with and although the day started out with rain, we found that we were totally comfortable under his rain "tent" until the light showers ended, and then we had sunshine. Ward is so relaxed and informative, and is most accomodating in terms of which route to sail. Just a delightful way to spend an afternoon - be sure to take along beer and vino, and deli treats - wonderful! You will enjoy for sure.

My husband and I joined Capt Ward Fey on his boat for an afternoon adventure for our anniversary. I had never sailed prior to this outing and Ward was very laid-back and instructed what to do along the way. We had a great experience listening to his knowledge of the different islands and it was very relaxing too. I would highly recommend joining Ward on an excursion around the islands. He makes it totally worth it.
