We visited this park with my 18 month old and husband. It was quite the highlight of our trip. The owner came out and let us feed the animals. She told us about them. Our toddler talked about that for weeks.
We visited the farm on our recent trip to San Juan Island, Wa. It was wonderful. The alpacas are adorable & there are so many of them. You can get right up to the fence where they are kept. We visited the gift shop, which has everything you could think of made out of alpaca wool. We spent some time talking to Kris Olson, one of the owners. She truly loves her alpacas & shared some stories about them with us.
Nice visit and lot of alpacas, even we saw a baby one. Kris Olson in the Alpaca country store was very nice and she explained very well their history with the alpacas and the history of the farm. Very worth to stop by and spend some time.
We live on the island, and we always stop and show our guests Krystal Acres. I don't think there's anything cuter than an alpaca. Whether you have little kids that want to see the animals, or sophisticated shoppers, there's something for everyone.
If you've never seen alpacas up close then do yourself a favor and drive out to this farm. You are able to walk up (with only a fence dividing you) to the alpacas in 2 sections of their well kept farm. The grounds are beautiful, as was the drive out here. They have a shop on site where you can purchase just about any alpaca item you would want. I had a scarf already or might have bought one here. I love my alpaca socks we got here. They are so soft, warm and comfortable for cold winters. Great quality too! My husband purchased a beanie/knit cap for the winters which is also really nice. It is a great shop if you're looking for unique gifts for friends or family. It is a bit pricey, but they seem comparable to any other alpaca item I've seen sold other places but much better quality. You definitely get what you pay for.Staff was friendly and welcoming.
Alpaca farm on the west side of the island. About 60 animals in the herd, separated by gender. You can see them as you drive in. Large gift shop with alpaca clothing-the prices seem quite reasonable and the quality seems high.
The day I arrived in San Juan it was very rainy, but still the alpaca farm was a fun stop. The owner was very kind and welcoming.
The owner made our visit very special by letting our children feed the alpacas and walk through their beautiful acreage. We met their champion, so of course we had to buy a little alpaca that looks just like her. It is a treasured favorite toy that will always remind us of our wonderful trip to San Juan Island. The country store sells beautiful blankets, sweaters and scarves that are a very high quality and will last a lifetime. I use my soft blanket every day. The staff is friendly and informative. This is a great way to spend a morning on the island.
