While it was the high light of our trip I DO wish the IDIOT driver in front of us had been able to read and understand the warnings about NOT stopping to feed the Buffalo & Elk so OUR car could have avoided becoming a scratching post for the Buffalo!! I would highly recommend purchasing wheat bread at an outlet ( we brought 10 loaves which only cost us $10) as the price at the gate is $3 a loaf!
this drive through features lots of wildlife that is just sure you have come to feed only them. They eat right from your hand. Great fun to see them heading toward your car. Buffalo may push a little hard. Would not recommend going in your expensive luxury or sports car. The farm was started with animals retired from movie work. The Bears and cats are confined begins fenced areas to protect them from the visitors. Reasonable prices.
My kids had a BLAST feeding the animals while driving through the game farm. The animals are gorgeous! It is so cool to pet a zebra right?!? Zebras, deer and Lhamas were so much fun to feed. My advice is to SKIP the buffalo area. They advise you to not stop in the buffalo section or your car will have damage. Well, it is stressful driving through it especially when the idiot in the car in front of you stops! So skip the buffalo! We had so much fun we drove through twice and skipped the buffalo the second time through. It is an all day pass so you can drive through as much as you want. They sell the whole wheat bread there for $2 a loaf so it is super easy. We got great pics and everybody had a great time! A must do!
Old and young alike love this place. Buy their bread to feed the animals and you will be amazed at the up close photos you will get. Seeing a big fat bear sit and beg is awesome.
I lived in Sequim and sent all my out of town guests for a visit all rave reviews including my own. Disliked that some cars containing children actually stopped where big game was free roaming with open windows no less (against the rules!!!), Loved the amazing animal collection and open grounds for the animals. Great close-up experience with forethought to, and planning for, customer safety.
The animals are aggressive and will stick their heads in the car doors, so watch out. The cats and wolves do not have good housing, so if that bothers you, do not go in that part. Children will love seeing all the animals.
We first visited the Game Farm Park about 15 years ago and loved it! We continue to go now and then with out-of-town visitor and went again last weekend with some friends from Australia. Despite dismal weather we still had a great time. The game farm provides a sense of excitement and risk that is rare in our sue-crazy country, so it's nice it has survived as long as it has. But we always feel uneasy about some of the obvious issues and wonder if we really should be supporting them. It's a shame because it doesn't seem it would take a lot of effort or cost to alleviate most of the problems (and controversy) and provide a win-win for everyone. These three things would make a huge difference: 1) Get rid of the small cages along walking tour. It's depressing to see the obviously unhappy animals in these cages and almost everyone I've spoken with says they avoid that part of the tour for that reason. 2) Put animals together in larger, more enriched habitats. There doesn't seem to be a space problem. We noticed a newer wolf habitat this time so maybe the owners are moving in this direction, but there was only one wolf in it and it still seemed on the small side. Sadly, we also so a whole new row of small cages being built. 3) Sell other healthy foods that visitors can feed the animals (leafy greens, carrots, feed biscuits, etc.). It seems all that bread can't be good for the animals and we would gladly pay for other foods in order to feel better about the experience!
We enjoyed driving through the game farm and being greeted by lamas, yak, deer and more! The zebras coming up to the car was amazing! The buffalo, with their long tongues, caused a few shrieks from the young ones. The kids and adults enjoyed feeding all the animals with the bread that is easily and inexpensively available at the entrance. We had so much fun, we bought two more loaves and went around again. It was December when we went, so the bears were a bit sluggish. We will have to go again in the summer!
The Olympic game farm is place like no othere were else can you have a zebra stick there head in your car! This is a fun place to go to with your family. It defintley creates lots of laughs! You want to go on dry days though because your windows will be down the whole time and you and the animals would be wet. But othere than that Olympic game farm is fun for activity with your family.
You can drive your car through the Olympic Game Farm and feed the bears at the same time. A great place to interact with wild life in the comfort of your car. There is also a Petting Farm where children can pet the farm animals. If you like to picnic there is an area where you can sit and enjoy your picnic.Great place to take the family for a reasonable price.Beautiful location. They also sell bread so you can feed the animals.
What an extraordinary place!! The Farm had been recommended to us by our daughter who had visited in the Summer. We were not disappointed from the time we were "ambushed" by the llamas as we went into the enclosures! There is a wonderful variety of wild animals and it is fantastic to see them wandering free in the general enclosures. The only down side is the caged area where the more wild animals are kept. Whilst understanding the reason it's such a shame that they don't also have large enclosures and a bit more freedom. Having said that the Farm is well worth the visit and should be added to your itinerary if you are in the area.
I took my two kids to check this out after seeing a sign for it when visiting the area. You are told to stay in your car and that's what you need to do. What you may not expect is the animals will try and get their head in your car to see if you have food if the windows are down. We had our windows up and a buffalo decided to ram my back door. Luckily I have the money to pay the deductable and insurance is covering the rest. I saw several cars with petrified people and little kids scared because of the animals crowding around their car or getting their heads way inside the car. No staff are anywhere nearby to help. So, if you do decide to go make sure you have money to fix the damage the animals will cause and have a driver who will not panic as you are on your own.
I love the drive through section of this game farm! So much fun! However the carniverous animal need to be relocated and I've recently stumbled upon just the place! wildanimalsanctuary.org This sanctuary is incredible. It gives the animals the room they deserve and the ability to live out there days peacefully. I think not only would it be amazing for these animals but it would help the business of the game farm to longer be riticuled by bad reviews.
We had so much fun here. There were six of us in the van and the Yak's and we had a ball! They'll hang out (or in) for all the whole wheat bread you can give them. Zebras and Llamas do the same. Don't miss the fun if you're ever in Sequim.
If you love animals, especially BIG ones this is a must place to stop. Buy a loaf of bread (or two) at the ticket counter and have everything from a Big Bison to loveing Llama stick their head in your window. All are friendly and if you ever want to get "up close and personal" with a great bunch of wildlife the Olympic Game Farm is the place to go.
