The former Suquamish museum, which was a great venue, has been replaced by a new building with new displays that make it even more interesting and informative than its predecessor. It showcases many aspects of the Suquamish Tribe's rich history and culture. It is definitely worth a visit. and you are lijkely to leave informed, impressed, and carrying a remembrance purchased at the excellent gift shop!
Architecturally beautiful, with gorgeous landscaping outside, and wonderful, informative exhibits and shop inside. Highly recommend!
A Step back in time to appreciate the area and the culture. Learn about Chief Sealth. See the changes in the last century. Then shop to your hearts content in the lovely gift shop. Quality items!
This small museum is fairly new and the building is architecturally beautiful. Many interesting historical displays presented in several modes (words, photos, video, etc) Also viewed the short (15 minute) movie before entering the display areas. Minimal entrance fee. I found it very informative.
The Suquamish Museum is a beautiful place, rather new and an important place to visit while on the upper Kitsap Peninsula. You will learn things here you would not otherwise know about the Suquamish people. Make sure you visit other Suquamish sites in the area as well. I was impressed with the scale and beauty of the building and exhibits. They have changing exhibits, so go several times a year.
Really enjoyed the new museum. Beautiful and very interactive. Moving artwork hangs above you. Three projector screens that react to people standing in front of it. And most impressive cedars and carving examples. I can't wait to see the new artifacts!
The Suquamish Museum is a beautiful and spacious building. It tells the history of the area as well as the Suquamish Indians. The entry fee is very minimal and the employees were extremely friendly.
Very informative, interesting and touching museum. Left me wanting to know more about the Squamish people.
Impressive museum for a small town...excellent exhibits. The Story of Suquamish people told well. Nice gift shop with some quality items.
The Museum was very small. I enjoy museums and read every sign, every story, watch the videos, study the artwork and history - and still, it took us only about one hour to see everything. The collection was nice and well presented, just not much of it. Disappointing when you know the Suquamish Tribe is rich in history and talent. They did have a very nice gift shop.
This is a lovely museum that tells the history of the Suquamish people, as well as other Puget Sound tribes. Artifacts, native folklore, and modern art are used to showcase the canoe culture that continues to thrive in and around Suquamish. I look forward to going back to see additions. Chief Seattle's gravesite is down the same street, and you can see Old Man's Longhouse just a few blocks away.
The architecture and the exhibits are wonderful and will be added to over time. They opened recently. High tech displays.....wow factor!
Entrance is cheap ($4 or so I think) and you can go thru it in like 5 minutes. Or, you can stay and read and look at the monitors. The museum itself is absolutely beautiful the way it is designed and the interior is modern and very neat!!!
The tribal museum is a little off of the beaten path, but worth finding. It is not the biggest of tribal museums, but does a good job of portraying the NW Native American Culture. The displays are well done and very educational.
For a little history of the Suquamish Tribe this is a good place.
