Great wines and wonderful view. Many different varieties of wine to choose from. My favorite is the late harvest reisling. Girly girl wines are great too! Sit outside and sip your favorite with a beautiful view of the vineyards and hills surrounding.

Recently was a part of a tour that made a stop at Silver Lake Winery. Feel pretty certain they knew we were coming there and have a lunch break. The setting is beautiful but the grass was in need of cutting. So thick & tall we could hardly move the chairs and as we were sitting down the hostess was quickly trying to wipe the table while we sat at them. I realize we were "off season" but think things should have been kept up better if they were going to be open and receiving guests. Selection was limited. Don't think they sold much to the group just because it was so limited. Was disappointed. It's off the beaten path so don't think I will do a return trip to see if things might be better the next time. Too bad because, as I said before, the setting is really beautiful.

Stopped by here on Saturday hoping to have some wine and enjoy their barbecue lunch. They must have cut back since they no longer have food service except on Sunday. We left without buying anything. Their price for bottles of wine is more than in the grocery stores. However, the selection and limited bottling is more extensive at the winery. Very friendly staff.

This was the only winery we visited and in part because it was more than just a tasting room. Set up on a hill, the grounds were pretty. Musical entertainment added to the grassy picnic area. The staff were happy and helpful. This was a lovely experience. The wines were nice too.

We recently visited during the Red Wine & Chocolate weekend. The reserve wines they were offering were good, but pricey. They paired each with a treat (including a chocolate dipped jalapeno chip!). We had visited Silver Lake a few years ago and tried some of their other wines, which were also good, and more affordable. We didn't buy anything this time around. The location is great - up on the hill and just beautiful views. If you have the time, it looked like a great place to picnic and enjoy some wine.

I've been to a ton of Wineries in Walla Walla, Yakima, Oregon & Napa. First - it is important to understand the Yakima or Rattlesnake Hills AVA is not the region that produces world class Wines. Don't come here if you want to compare Wines to Napa. Here is what you come here for - Yakima/Zillah is about 2-3 hours from Seattle, it is a great place with a few Wineries. Buy a bottle or two, sit down in the front lawn - Enjoy the Wine + Sun. Ideally - if you bring someone to eat that works well. Silverlake will sometimes have food. Usually they have Live Music. Try the Syrahs here, better than the rest. What I can say is that Silverlake is one of the two Wineries in Yakima/Zillah that provide a great experience. The other one being Bonair.

I have always liked Silver Lake wine but had never been to the winery. Great view, better than any other that I could find in the valley. They were also serving food, it was $12 for a fairly casual meal which seemed like a high price and it was just ok but being able to sit on the patio there listening to music and drinking wine was outstanding! So pretty, defiantly bring your camera. I also don't think they have food every weekend but it was an event on the website.

A friend recommended this winery as her favorite. It is a bit of a drive but well worth it. The idyllic setting alone is worth the visit--peaceful and soothing. There is a water feature on the grounds overlooking the valley. The wine tasting is great. Although we didn't experience it, there are bar-b-ques, and festivities on many weekends. Loved it!

Some distance off the Yakima Valley Highway, but a nice tasting room, a good selection of reasonably priced wines, and a patio and picnic area with a lovely view of the vineyards below.

This is a beautiful place to relax and watch the grapes grow.

Yes, the view at Silver Lake is beautiful. Yes, the grounds are nice. Yes, the wine is ok. But I've always thought the customer service has been so-so. Then my friend tells me, recently, that when he went to Silver Lake with his wife and some friends, he got totally screwed by the workers. The place is totally corporate anyways. I can't believe what happened. There was a promotion that if you bought 6 bottles of wine, you got a cheap little canvas bag. Well, my friend bought 5 bottles and took them to his car (not knowing about the promotion). He returned to the tasting room and his friends told him about the promotion. So, he bought another bottle. The cashier told him, "Sorry, you have to buy all 6 bottles together." He said, "You know I just bought 5 bottles." She said, "Yes, I know but you don't get the canvas bag unless you buy 6 bottles together." My friend said he will never go to Silver Lake Winery again for the rest of his life. Kind of funny to think a vendor lost a consumer for life all because of a cheap, little canvas bag.

We were at Silver Lake Winery on April 26,2008 for the Wine Tasting. We took our lunch and ate on the grass, along with a lot of other wine tasters. The winery had live music, and the band played fun, lively tunes, and some adults and several kids danced in the grass. The wine was wonderful, but the lines of people were so long we couldn't buy any wine. The facilities were very professional and clean, the view was great, parking was limited. Was a good experience, and would like to do it again.

Tip: Check their site for weekend event list. We enjoyed a great Salmon Sunday Dinner, all while over looking the vineyards at Silver Lake. I highly recommend a visit to this tasting room and picnic grounds.
