This is a restored and modernized early 20th Century vaudeville house and one time movie palace and the premier local venue for live performances. Every seat is excellent, and you don't need binoculars or opera glasses. Symphonies, ballet and international solo artists are better appreciated in this more intimate concert hall than in the mega venues in the city to the north of Tacoma.

Something good is always happening at the Pantages. You can tour this restored beauty and learn it's interesting history or you can attend an event and enjoy the opulent surroundings. Performances are varied and diverse so you can no doubt find something to suit your taste.

My wife and I consistently buy a seasons worth of shows each year when the opportunity presents. The 2013-2014 shows were the best offered in years and I must applaud management for their efforts. This is not always the case, however, and it's why I'm only giving 4 Stars instead of the Five. The venue is a restored landmark in the downtown theatre district and is a real gem!! Small and intimate seating throughout the theatre with a good sound system. Street parking is close or garage. The staff is impeccable, as old as the theatre and so historically knowledgeable about the the structure. I am so looking forward to another Great season!!

Our first visit to this lovely theater was exceptional. The house staff is supremely cordial and filled with anecdotal information about the history of this lovely venue. We enjoyed a Friday evening show with a local string quartet followed by an exceptional couple of hours with Judy Collins. Could it get any better? The theater does have an elevator but to reach the upper levels, some steps will need to be navigated. If and when you go (make an effort to if you can), check with the house prior to your visit to accommodate any needs for access.

We spent New Year's Eve in Tacoma for the first night celebration. We decided to see music here, and were pleasantly surprised. There is quite a lot of seating, and it is very comfy. The inside of the theater is beautifully designed, and has a charming old time feel. It is worth a visit for anyone who likes visiting historic places. The only bathroom that was open for first night was downstairs and quite small, but there may be another one open for other events.

I have always love the Pantages and have spent many hours both as an audience member and as a "ballet and theatre mom" down below and behind the scenes. The quality of the entertainment is always the best and the ambience of this theatre is inspirational.

When I first moved to Washington state in the 1990s, Tacoma was the butt of many jokes. With a reputation (deserved or not) for being a down-on-its-luck port town with strange odors and bad traffic, it wasn't really considered a destination. What a difference a vision and great planning makes! Tacoma now has a thriving theater districts and awesome restaurants and attractions. Light rail, Amtrak, the glass museum really add to Tacoma's rebirth. Pantages Theater fits right in with the city's restoration. It's a great little historic theater with an awesome lineup of shows. Very impressed and hope to be back soon!

Visiting the Pantages is always enjoyable. It is a historic building that has been refurbished in the original context, both vision and sound are very good throughout the theatre. The seats are very comfortable, with a lot of leg room. If you have not seen an event there, you have missed something very nice."Joy Luck Club" is the play that we saw last night. The production was managed by Plan-B Entertainment, LLC. The actors did a superb job of presenting the book's message, which is often difficult. The cast were all excellent, and portrayed the issues with family communication can be an issue for anyone.

This is a lovely, classic theatre with good view from every seat. A delightful place to see a play or hear an intimate concert- the Pantages is wonderful!

We see live theatre at the Pantages at least a couple of times a year and we're always glad we did. The theatre is in downtown Tacoma so restaurants & shops are close. It's a beautiful old theatre.

In early 2013, we drove from Seattle to the Pantages Theater in Tacoma to see Ed Asner, a wonderful actor and seasoned pro. He performed a one man show as Franklin Roosevelt - great stamina, fabulous performance. The Pantages Theater is a beautifully restored vaudeville-era theater - just lovely. Nice sight lines, great sound, comfy seats. Just small enough to make you feel connected to the performer. Lots of volunteers helped make our time there quite pleasant. We would definitely make the trip from Seattle again for the right show at this venue.

We went to the Roosevelt show at the Pantages and were seated on the main floor, row R. All of the seats on the main floor had a great view and the sound system was wonderful. This was a one man play that was terrific. The lobby area is large and they were selling beverages and candy bars and nuts. Prices were way too high. Bathrooms are down a long flight of stairs. People working seems to really enjoy their jobs and were very helpful.

If you are taking a young child for their first theatre experience this is an okay, cute little theatre. If you’re looking for "the real deal" theatre experience with cultured audience, staff and professional troupes/companies it will be worth your while to make the drive to Seattle or you will be disappointed; especially if you are a seasoned theatre patron.

Lovely theater for a night on the town that is well maintained and lovely for seeing small orchestral performances. Not a bad seat in the house!
