My friends and I frequent the Goat after rides in Riverside State Park. It's a great place to cool off and get some good food! The service is always good. It's usually a crowded and bustling joint - so come a little early for dinner or late for lunch and you'll be okay. When the weather is great - the patio is open and that helps get more people in and eating!
Great selection of beer and good food - the venue is a bit small so go during off times or prepare for a short wait. The parking lot is always crowded so you may want to park down the road (residential area) and walk in. I recommend the outside eating area - in the summer it is perfectly misted and I find it extremely refreshing. My husband loves the variety of IPA beers they have and I just love the atmospher - always a joy to stop by this venue.
The flying goat has a terrible reception area, but that is the only bad thing I could possibly say about it. The outside patio is wonderful, and there is an enormous fireplace in the middle of it when it is a bit chilly. The pizza is amazing and always good. The Dalton is to die for! Best artisan pizza in Spokane, easily.
If you are looking for excellent, thin crust, wood-fired pizza then you must get to the Flying Goat. There simply is no better pizza. Traditional and gourmet choices. Consistently voted as best in Spokane. Combine to-die-for pizza with great draft beers and you've got a winner. We had the fried dough for dessert. It was soooo good!! Not a large place; you could have a short wait for a table especially if you have someone with you under 21, they cannot be seated in "the bar" which is very loosely differentiated front the dining area. Friendly, "hippy" staff. Fun, funky, delicious treat.
If you like thin, crispy crust, creative toppings, and a great pub atmosphere, this is the place. It is always busy, servers are friendly and knowledgeable, and they have loads of craft beers on tap, including (usually) a cask ale. My favorite pizza is the F Street. Friends have told me Fire Artisan Pizza in downtown Spokane is better, but they are wrong. Flying Goat is much better and the service and atmosphere rock. I found Fire to be a little snobby.
