We visited the tasting room within a block or two of The Marcus Whitman Hotel, and everyone was impressed by the quality of the wines. Walla Walla is overflowing with fantastic wine, and yet Seven Hills stood out. The staff were knowledgeable and professional. The tasting room had a little gift area, which was nice. Make time to go here.
We did a 25 winery tour of the area and stopped on Day 3 at Seven Hills winery. It is located in downtown right behind the Marcus Whitman hotel where we stayed for 2 days. The wine tasting room is very nice and our wine host was well informed and did a very nice job. While you will hear the Seven Hills name throughout the Walla Walla area, the Seven Hills Vineyards (on of the largest in the area) and the Seven Hills Winery are two separate entities. We liked the wines at Seven Hills but nothing really grabbed us. However, wine is a very personal experience and adding Seven Hills to your winery stops is worth the try.
Top of any trip to Washington by touring and tasting the Walla Walla wineries. Described as the new "Napa" you'll find excellent red wine and merlot. Seven Hills is one of the best. With a tasting room downtown you can experience all of their wines. We were so impressed we joined their wine club and receive regular shipments. Don't miss this opportunity!
Some of the best wine in Washington is available here. For us the reds were the highlight.Joined there wine club and receive regular shipments. The owners were great and led us to an excellent restaurant almost behind there tasting room. great visit if you are in the area.
Very knowledgable staff and good wines. Staff was familiar with other area wineries and very willing to share information. Staff made me feel very at home and welcomed. Made good suggestion for dinner.
Really enjoyed our experience at the tasting room downtown. Very nice people, and of course very knowledgeable about not only their wine, but about the Walla Walla culture as well. Signed up for the "Family Circle" which offers some excellent discounts on their selections.
If you are interested in history this may appeal to you, but if you are interested in wine it is best to skip if and go elsewhere in the Clare. The staff are not at all interested in telling tasters about the wine, and when asked if the label had any information on it, the answer was 'no, not much'. Nothing more was offered. Very disappointing.
The wine was excellent but nothing more than any of the other 8 wineries we visited. We found it a bit "snobby" compared to the other tasting rooms and that kind of detracted from the experience. Might try not pushing so hard to sell and allow the wine to sell itself.
location is behind Marcus Whitman hotel in downtown. I have to say I a bit dissapointed to the wine we're tasting, but i guess that's depend on your taste bud.
We stopped by this winery because of its location in an old furniture factory, and the reputation of its wine. I was delighted with both. The building was interesting to look at while sipping wines, which were very good. The Cabernet Sauvignon is definitely worth a try. This is certainly one of the better winery stops in Walla Walla.
2 blocks north of Main St. on 3rd St. Very patient demonstrations and sampling of their wine, which was broad and deep in selection. We bought a 12 bottle case home and are looking forward to enjoying them!
Really enjoyed visiting. Even late in the day, the tastsing room manager took his time chatting to us. The wines were pretty good. Would recommend - just for the architecture alone!
Within walking distance form hotels and down town in an old time white house crawford building, they have great wines, Jill can tell you everything about Walla Walla, best places to eat, go and have fun. This is a must for wine tasting in Walla Walla, very good wines.
We already loved Seven Hills prior to our Walla Walla trip, but had to stop in taste and buy some before heading back to Seattle.
This is a great place to stop near the Marcus Whitman and Whitehouse Crawford...start your tour here.
