This place is a must see to fully understand how much there is there to do and experience! The thought put into putting this place together is mind-boggling itself! Full of interactive displays using different artistic and scientific methods. Cheap to get in to spend some time too! Recommend for older and well-behaved kids.
So many cool things and you are always learning too.I went with my boyfriend but there were young children here too and families, great place for everyone to visit. Interactive learning is one of the best things in my opinion! I can't remember the exact cost to get in but i know that it wasn't much at all considering all that's on offer!
Our four kids love it there. We love it's learning environment and super low cost to get in. Perfect rainy day activity.
I joined a person there with their children last week. I had walked in an the place was essentially empty. (school day) There was no one at the desk and I failed to notice the small sign on the counter that said admission was $2. While visiting with my friend, the employee (owner?) glared at us and hovered uncomfortably close. He did not say anything until I went to leave about 15 minutes later. He rudely asked what organization I worked for and stated this was a business! I told him I didn't know what he was talking about and he said I had failed to pay admission. This was obviously an oversight on my part. I apologized an said there had been no one at the counter when I walked in and I didn't see the sign that he was now pointing to. He stated he never leaves the counter and yes he was there. I left a $10 bill on the counter and walked out. He then followed me out to my car to give me change,I refused and said it was a donation. Very uncomfortable situation! The exhibits are great, the kids had a good time but the interaction ruined it.
There is so much to do in a relatively small space. My grandsons could have spent hours there. So much to do and see and experiment. Loved it. Fun for adults too. You have to go see it for yourself.
We went with our 4 and 2 year old and the staff were very attentive. However, I'd recommend it for older children that can do more of the exhibits on their own. The exhibits are actaully very interesting and you'll want to take your time to read through and try each one. So with little kids we were more distracted as we were more mindful of them running around and breaking items.
An amazing space melding hands-on science with art and wonder. Great wooden contraptions and music makers! Everyone in there was having a blast when we were there. My 12-year-old had to be dragged away from the tornado maker. All in all, a memorable experience, well worth the 2 dollar admission cost.
I love this place. If you are familiar with the Exploratorium in San Francisco, this is a smaller, homier version of that place. It has all kinds of cleverly built experiments and displays for kids that are educational and fun to use. Kids love them. Adults too, but for the adults there is a great art gallery too. The work there is always interesting and well done. I would recommend a visit for the whole family.
Liked the low price, and the owners / hosts were very friendly and helpful, but you do need to ask them. They don't follow you around, which is nice. Fun for kids about 3yrs old and up. Fun for adults too. Very quiet, for the most part. There are some things that make noise. If you are downtown with your kids, they would probably welcome the break.
We loved this place!! It was only $2 a person. It isn't huge and pretty lowkey which made it a better draw then the science center. We have four kids ranging from 6 to 12. All were entertained as well as the parents. Fun place!!
For a couple of dollars you get hours of hands on (educational) entertainment for yourself and all the children in your family. We took two of our grandchildren, 14 year old granddaughter and 4 year old grandson. We were as enchanted as they were with everything there ( and I'm a physics major)
Walked by this place and discounted it as an art gallery until I noticed the water-table. Inside, interactive exhibits built with the craft of fine furniture and fun! It's not big and not science-center glitzy but that's a large part of the attraction. And only $2 admission - what a deal.
I spent a couple of hours at Mindport with my 14 yr old daughter. We enjoyed all of the exhibits and had a few good laughs. Only $2 admission, great value!! And the exhibits are locally made.
Bring the kids - you and they will have a fun time trying different little experiments. It's a fun hour or two and for only $2 each well worth it. SStreet. Parking only so bring $1+ in change for the meter.
What a great, unique find. Hard to describe what this place is but if you are in downtown Bellingham definitely check it out. It is a great hands-on experience for kids and adults. It sort of combines physics, science, music, art and logic. Each display has a binder that you can read if you want to know about the physics behind each invention, or you can just play with them and be awed. Apparently each invention was made by an employee. Some of them are works of art too. My daughters favourite was a handmade theremin. For only $2 it is the best deal in town, and i don't know how they maintain it for that price. I would have gladly donated more. It is not a big place and you could miss it if you weren't looking for it so keep an eye put for it.
