I played here 4 times in Feb, 2015 and enjoyed the excellent design, but the conditions are far from acceptable. The grass is dormant, so you are playing off brown fairways, and they have done their best to green up the greens but there is a lot of dead patches (small craters actually)that you have to drop around. They paint the fringe as well to give you a good visual on the approach shot. The problem with the course is that balls run very far off your landing area, usually only stopped by a gully, rough, bush etc. They need to use mounds and/or level off some fairways a bit. I will say that the staff are extremely friendly, as are the members I played with.
This club is under new ownership in the past two years after several years of declining conditions. The new owner is extremely capable of creating a great place to golf, but he has funding limitations and very little cooperation from the current members and Cedar Creek residents. I would expect things to improve, but not for at least two years. Meanwhile, stay away because it's not worth the fees.
Outstanding community for retirees and near retirees to socialize and become involved with community activities. Recreation includes golf, pool, and tennis plus many activities available through Cedar Creek Ladies Club.
It is too far away from everything and does not offer anything special that you could not find closer to town.
This is where my wife and I live. Moved from NYS, and are very happy here. Built around a golf course, it's a great community. Association fees are real reasonable, the community has a pool, a community center, and tennis courts. Numerous activities are available for men and women. Singles as well as couples have the opportunity for much socialization.
Great place to live. Wonderful residents always willing to help out in time of need. Great social activities. Nice pool and tennis tourts. Golf corse is improving daily.
Quality layout, condition has been erratic...but is doing great under new ownership & management. A little out of the way, but worth it.
I live in an equestrian community next to Cedar Creek and I can honestly say if it weren't for my horses this is where I would live. The homes are all nice, mostly brick and some back up to the golf course. They have a clubhouse and pool and the people I know in the development love it.
We just drove through Cedar Creek during our tript to Aiken. Nice homes, properties, pool, tennis courts, and golf course!
We recently played Cedar Creek and were extremely disappointed. The entire golf course is in need of TLC! The greens were hard as concrete and pocked and the fairways were like a cow pasture. This course is semi-private and therefore, should be well maintained. However, we have played on park district courses that were far superior. We heard it use to be a quality course but the lack of maintenance has made it a VERY poor experience. Forget drinks at the clubhouse, the facility smells like mold.
The development is in a nature preserve. Amidst the beautiful homes there are walking trails, ponds, tennis courts, swimming pool and golf course
