Fantastic park with loads to do for young children and teenagers alike but the real treat is the cafe ... An absolute adult paradise, great setting , warm and snug inside and superb food and I have to say the best coffee anywhere .Highly recommend a visit to this park and it's open all year round !!
What a great find. We went there with friends and our toddler and we were ever so impressed. The cafe was spot on, the food homemade and great quality, The pimms and scone offer was just what was needed on that wonderful summers day. Its is a great place to go to with your children of all ages, but also for adults it should not be missed. The Playgrounds are far enough away to not be intrusive to the cafe guest who can do a bit of bird spotting from the decking over the little (swampy) lake. We will be back, time and time again.
fully agree with both the previous reviews - lovely place to sit, and super coffee/cake.Liked the way that the seating area blends in sympathetically with the surrounding area.
What a fantastic location, the decking area looks directly out over the lake. The ambience is fantastic and there was a warm and friendly welcome. First class quality coffee and homemade cakes. A varied menu catering for all tastes. I will definitely be visiting again very soon. Inside is vibrant, tasteful and a little quirky. It was good to learn that there will be some forthcoming evening events at this great venue too.
My hubby and girls met me here whilst doing a two day canoe trip on the river Nene. We met by the tall dovecotes (room to pull the canoe out) and wandered along the way-marked paths to the new cafe. The kingfisher cafe did lovely homemade cakes and quiche as well as paninis etc. On a warm Bank Holiday weekend we were able to sit out on the decking and enjoy the sun. There is a toddler's playground as well as a well equipped older kids playground (a range of three slides, climbing equipment etc.) Good paths would suit pushchairs. Cost at time of visit £2.60 for parking. NB there is a width restricted road into and out of nearby Oundle, but you can avoid this by approaching from the A6065.
