A great local museum with many displays about the area. They change the exhibits often, so there's always something new going on. The Curators are young and take pride in their museum they have created. Admission is FREE, but you should always make a generous donation to help keep the museum going.

A great history lesson of this beautiful area. This center is set up to take you from the beginning to present time. This is a wonderful history of Oconee County and this part of South Carolina.

Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Gift shop is small but has very unique and affordable items that I like to purchase for gifts. Great programs for children. We are local and go as a family, and we also take visiting out of town guests. Everyone in our party enjoys the displays and I learn something new every time we go. This place is a true treasure.

The OHC is a museum spotlighting Oconee County History. They have permanent and rotating exhibits, including the famous Chattooga Canoe. They offer various classes related to historic past-times (chair caning, tatting, and music). They provide many opportunities for kids to get involved, as well as adults. Most recently, my family and I participated in Friday night trivia (now a monthly event) and had a blast! Definitely recommend a visit (or 2 or 3). No fee but donations are greatly appreciated!
