tuskegee airmen memorial

While passing through area we became aware of this memorial . It is in a small park across from the local airport. Reading the exhibits we were fascinated by the history they described. It is part of the joy of travel to not only discover something new but to learn about our history It was well worth the side trip

The memorial has a monument and the history of the Tuskegee Airmen. This regional airport is where they came to be trained. It is a beautiful park and a wonderful tribute to these very brave men. I would recommend taking a lunch and visiting this memorial.
