Beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The swamp is stunning. Loved the boat ride. The staff are so nice and knowledgeable. Great place to spend the day.

The Cypress Garden is really a complex. The heart of the Gardens is a swamp, but what an amazing swamp it is. You can boat (either paddle yourself with a boat that is provided for free or paddled by a guide whom you pay) through a bald cypress swamp. You see the amazing bald cypress trees with their knees jutting from the water, expanses of lily pads, turtles, birds and yes, alligators in the wild. Don't worry, as long as you don't bother them, they won't bother you. Depending on the time of year the azaleas or camellias on the higher land may be in bloom. If you don't want to boat, there are trails that will take you through as well. This makes for a very nice walk. The other attractions at the complex include a herpetarium where you can see snakes and reptiles (and some fish) in glass enclosures. There is an outside pond enclosed in a high fence where you can see basking alligators. An amazing butterfly house is filled with beautiful plants all there to care for the butterflies that flit around. There are playgrounds for the smaller ones and places to have your picnic lunch. There is an admission fee that was $10 for adults, but we got in for $9 with our AAA discount. The location is a short drive from Charleston.

We came here during a very cold spell. Even though it is winter this is a beautiful area. Our pictures do not do it justice. We were both surprised at how beautiful it was. I can not wait to come back when all the flowers are in bloom. There is a butterfly garden it was really cool. A must see.

Been here a few times over the years. Cool water ski show, "zoo"...and the last time they had a great fireworks show.

We go here often. It is not expensive to get in. The activities/attractions are all close together. So you don't have to walk very far. Love to take the boats on the lake and look at the cypress trees, water lilies and alligators sunning themselves. The gift shop is real nice too.

Cypress Gardens is just outside of Moncks Corner SC and is a great nature center for learning about the local critters in and around our swamps. Take one of the many hiking trails through the swamp or get up close and personal with some of the local alligators by canoe or paddle boat. The butterfly house is small but amazingly full of exotic plants and birds as well.

This is a fun and picturesque park to visit that is breathtakingly beautiful. It is somewhat small, but still very worth the visit. There is a small 'village' area with a reptile house, butterfly house, and nature center. The majority of the park is the cypress swamp. There are several miles of trails well worth exploring that take you around the swamp. The admission includes row boats/canoes that you can take through an easy-to-follow trail that is worth the visit alone. They also have a guided boat tour for an additional fee, but we opted for the self-guided.We drove through the Naval base which is near a huge factory, and were a little weary of this park, but it is a few miles away and very quiet. There are no restaurants, only hot dogs and soda, so keep that in mind before you arrive.

Yeah this one is one of those places you go to in life when a song like this comes straight into your head. Admittedly I wanted to go here because of "The Notebook" but I was in awe of how beautiful this place was. We were very lucky in that we went first thing on a Sunday morning and the lovely lady at the front desk said it was quiet because everyone was at church. Because we were the first ones there we got out on the water before anyone else, which made it extremely peaceful on the water - all you could hear was the wildlife. It was unbelievably romantic - like right out of movie, funnily enough, ha ha.

Cypress Gardens is worth the visit. Take the boat ride through the Cypress swamp and hear the history of the place. It is eerily beautiful.

We went on an overcast, somewhat gloomy day which only added to the calm, serene, creepy vibe this place has. I've never been on water so quiet before! It is sooo peaceful here. The boat ride is a MUST. I can see why it is a common Hollywood film location. Turtles on logs, hanging moss, perfectly clear reflections of trees on the water, lily pads, beautiful bridges, vultures. Too cold to see crocs. Very friendly staff. Great gift shop. Educational as well.

This was a very nice Boat ride thru the Everglades to see the Huge & Beautiful Cypress trees. whose roots go into the water. The Tour guide narrates as the vessel slowly meanders the beautiful waters. We totally enjoyed it.

It was fun taking you own boat out in the swamp. The trees reflecting off the water is great. Lots of photo opportunities. A nice mile walk around the swamp is pet and stroller friendly. There is a butterfly house and swamp animal attraction, which is interesting.

The grounds are beautiful ... It is worth stopping in just to row through the waters. They allow self-guided row boat rides (they have guided too). It was so beautiful and peaceful. Too cold for gator sightings but well worth the visit. At $10 this is a great deal where you could spend hours venturing through. The bridges are beautiful. Some beautiful local and exotic species on display. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

We went to Cypress Gardens and took a delightful rowboat ride through the alligator infested swamp. It was peaceful and tranquil. The person manning the boat dock said the gators were plentiful and we managed to see a small foot long baby swimming under water and a much bigger one swimming slowly in front of us with his head peaking out of the water. The tour took about 30 minutes to round the lagoon. The water is brackish probably because of the cypress roots and there was a lot of Spanish Moss draping the branches of the trees. Giant lily pads floated effortlessly in the water. You hear a lot of strange animal sounds but it's really a relaxing row. We had to tuck under a bridge once and could have gotten off to explore the banks but didn't.I don't remember the scene from The Notebook because it was such a "chick flick". But my wife and daughters were familiar with it. The trip was delightful.
