I just took the tour of the BMW plant in Greer, SC. It was fantastic! You walked around the assembly area for an hour. You got to see the entire process of making a car from start to finish. The museum was interesting, but the tour stole the show. Highly recommend!

It was my first time to see a car being manufactured and my 17 year old son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was impressed by efficiency of the process and we had an excellent tour guide who kind of related the process to giving birth - it was cute and entertaining and she provided a lot of interesting information. The plant is huge and so you don't see every step of the process close up but she stopped long enough to see the process that was being performed at certain stations. There were maybe 25 people in the group which I thought was a good size. I would definitely recommend! I had toured the Zentrum museum a couple years ago so did not take time this trip to visit it but before or after the tour you may want to spend some time in the museum.

I have only ever owned BMWs in my lifetime and the plant tour was so awesome! BMW CCA members get in for $3.50 so we paid a total of $7 to tour the plant, I believe it's $10 a person for regular admission. Unforutately no photography was allowed, but that's understandable. There is a little cafe inside that you can buy some pastries and drinks but eat before you get there. The tour itself is about an hour and a half and includes a lot of walking, so you're going to starve by the time you leave lol. It really was incredible though. They take you all the way from when they put windows and windshields in to the first time they start the car to take it for a 1 mile test drive. It's cool to see the assembly line and seeing how careful the employees are with every single move. The museum was cool, small but it had a beautiful E30 M3, E92 M3, some Z cars, and Isetta's. Overall this was a great trip and I would highly recommend it to someone who's a fan of BMWs like myself.

I have been on the BMW Tour four or five times in the past, and they were all great. We had family in from Illinois for a week and they asked me to set up a BMW Tour for them, which I did. The person that I contacted on the phone was very helpful to set up the tour for the four of us. When the tour started, we were able to take a bus to the start of the tour area. The lady that conducted the tour was mediocre at best. First of all, there were too many people in the group, to be able to see what the tour guide had pointed out several times, for all of us at the tail end of the tour group to see what she was talking about. Secondly, there were a few older people at the end of the tour group that wanted to take some extra time to see things on the tour, so when the tour guide started walking they didn't and we were always way behind, and had to almost run to catch up. It would have been much better if there had been smaller groups.

You don't have to love BMWs to enjoy this experience.... It was amazing to watch a car being built and taking this well organized and informative tour was well worth the time. I was amazed at how clean, actually immaculate, this factory was and the people were all clearly happy to work there. Our tour guide, Sheryl, was excellent and very knowledgeable. My only complaint was that the tour was very scripted and left no opportunities for on the spot questions. Probably because we were actually on the floor and close to the actual assembly lines and surrounded by "associates". I loved to hear about the excellent relationship that seems to be in place between management and workers - very impressive. The robotics involved was truly amazing, it was almost like watching a moving symphony as the the cars travel down the line and are built with such precision. I got a kick out of knowing that an owners name was in a chip attached to the car from the moment they began building it. I'm really not a car enthusiist and this tour was taken for my husband but I actually did enjoy it .......

If you get a chance to take a factory tour at one of the BMW plants in Germany, you should definitely do it. It will open your eyes to how incredibly complex a car really is.If you are in and around the Spartanburg area, you should visit the USA's only BMW factory. You don't see as much as the German factories, but it is a good tour and is well worth the time and money.Even if you are not a car person or not a fan of the brand, it is a worthwhile visit to see the extraordinary complexity of modern car manufacture. At only $10 per person, it is not only educational, but also incredibly good value.

The factory tour has been outsourced. It is very pleasant and interesting if you just want to see how cars are built today. Impressive to see each car that has already been paid for be produced.Fascinating to see robotics in action and measures to make the work less labor intensive for the staff. One moment you see a car with a left hand steering wheel, the next you see one with a right hand steering wheel.t is fun to see the collection of earlier models of cars and motorcycles produced by BMW. The Zentrum souvenir shop allows you to purchase BMW paraphernalia. You can not show up and order a car for same day delivery yet...

Home of BMW in the U.S., interesting to BMW fans but also to those who might enjoy the cultural revolution brought to this area by the factory.

On our trip to Atlanta for Thanksgiving, we made an impromptu stop at the museum (called BMW Zentrum). The museum is adjacent to the plant and can be seen from I85. Unfortunately, the factory tours were sold out. We enjoyed seeing all the cars and motorcycles displayed in the museum. The gift shop has lots to choose from as well. A café is located next to the gift shop, but we had just had a huge breakfast. The museum is free, but you may have to pay for the factory tour (saw some people paying at the entrance desk). We spent approximately 30 minutes at the museum.

The free museum on the grounds of BMW manufacturing plant near Greenville will appeal to all the friends of the roundel, motorcycles and cars. Airplanes, and Formula 1 for that matter.

We thoroughly enjoyed the factory tour! While the entire tour is on foot, it was amazing to get so close to where the vehicles are actually being assembled. Highly recommend it for any BMW enthusiast!

A video of the car making process is available, along with past BMW cars and motorcycles. A gift shop is also inside the Zentrum. Before visiting, check to see if there are tours of the plant available. The tours are well worth your time and money, if you're lucky enough to go!

TestPoint

We attended the BMW sponsored EuroFest at the Zentrum which is a charity car show each October. Not only was the 435 car show beyond belief but the factory tour was simply outstanding. Without question we will be there again next year and take the factory tour again as well. If you haven't seen an automobile assembly line you will be really amazed.

We were looking forward to this tour for so long and we were not disappointed on the day.We own a BMW Z3 in the UK and it was great to see where she was hand built in the BMW Factory at Spartanburg all those years ago.We had Cheryl as our guide and she was excellent, so informative and knowledgeable. We could have spent the whole day looking at the manufacturing plant, absolutely amazing. We, too, saw the new i8 and another new model which was not so sporty! What really impressed us was how BMW are so careful to protect the environment and also so keen to give their workers a good environment to work in. A brilliant visit!
