We had our family pics taking here while on vacation. The staff was THE BEST we encountered on the board walk and on our vacation (along with the hotel)! The pictures look professional, the staff is quick and has a good eye of what looks good, and it was fun! My teenagers were reluctant but after we did it they wanted another!TIP: Purchase the cd. Then you have the rights to your pics and you can make what ever size you want for the fraction of the cost.
We had a portrait session with our two boys and it was a great experience! Everyone there was friendly, knowledgeable and great with kids!! Lots of outfits to choose from along with backdrops!! Great time!!
Family of six with 4 kids under 10. I can't believe how friendly the staff was--quick too. The place is very laid out well with multiple backgrounds (real, not a backdrop screen) and real black-powder pistols and guns to hold! Normally I have to say our kids HATE taking pictures--but they loved it. I think because they put clothes on over your clothes (we went there around 10:30am, temp outside around 73 or so) it went so fast. The costumes were great, they had boots, fans for the girls, frilly hats, cowboy hats. Cost about $75 for an 8 x 10 with a cool wood frame. For the friendliness of the photographer, the speed and the environment of the place the cost was well worth it. I believe they are a member of the 'old time photographers' association when I researched them before hand. LOVED IT!
We had been talking about doing an "old time" photo for a while and finally had a chance. We chose this studio because it is right on the Keystone boardwalk and was near our hotel. They are open late and we were able to get our session done after most other things started to close which worked well. It was a great and very fun experience. The staff was superb and did a great job with our young kids and us. They made the experience even better. A great vacation experience and memory.
My family reunion group researched a few "Old Time" photography places in the Rapid City/ Hill City / Keystone SD and Professor Samuel's is in a league of their own compared to the other establishments, which looked small and didn't seem to have the variety or quality in comparison. Samuel's has a nice large photography studio and was very well equipped with lots of props and costumes. They have a saloon scene, a rustic cabin scene and a fancy civil war theme (I even saw a bathtub prop, although none of us were THAT brave). Jason and his crew were fun and professional, very quick and orderly too. They were able to accommodate our large group easily. While these places are never all that cheap, this one was worth every penny, both for the experience as well as the memorable photos we took home with us. Just a fun note, our family had one of these photos taken nearly 30 years ago that we were hoping to recreate. Jason took one look at our old photo and, much to our surprise, told us we were at the exact same studio! He still had several of the original props and backdrop and was happy to set us in the same poses and props (as much as he could....we're all a bit bigger than we were back then!) We all had a blast playing dress-up and the photo we took home was priceless! Also, check out their icecream and sweets shop next door. A great after-photo treat!
Een portret maken in Western style. Klink Volendams en toeristisch en dat is het ook... Maar wel heel leuk. Je wordt goed en vriendelijk geholpen. Verschillende outfits en decors zijn mogelijk.
