the blood run nature area

Walking in the woods of this former farm is a true pleasure. You can walk down to the water or stay on the path through the wooded areas. The grasses and flowers are especially lovely.

Currently, Blood Run is a state park in progress. It has about 3 miles worth of trails currently, with more planned. There's no visitors center or educational signage yet, but that will be a big boost when it comes. The history of this area is terrific, but without researching beforehand you wouldn't know it yet. The views of the Big Sioux River are nice as well. There's currently no fee to visit this state park. Can't wait to see how this develops.

It's a wonderful place to take a walk and enjoy nature so close to Sioux Falls. Soon there will be 7 more miles of trails and I can't wait.

Very cool and neat area. Needs a little bathroom and a little more educational signs but that will come in time. Very neat little gem near the city. If you like newton hills. This is a nice mini and closer version.

Hidden and unknown to most residents in area until recently, this is an amazing historical site where thousands of indigenous people lived hundreds of years ago. It is in the process of development...I hope they keep the pristine beauty of this historical gem.

Great natural setting with the prairie and forest on the bluffs above the Big Sioux River. Still being set up as a park as state funding becomes available.
