It was our first helicopter ride and loved it. Mark, our pilot, was really nice and explained where we were all the time along with history of each site. It was really windy but Mark told us ahead of time in each spot that we might feel the wind more and why we couldn't fly lower and closer to the faces at Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. He made us feel very comfortable. We went on the 35 minute tour and was happy with that choice. We are really glad we decided to spend the money and get brave enough to take the ride in a helicopter.

Class act! We know helicopters, and these folks are operating equipment in excellent condition. My husband is a helicopter pilot, and he was impressed with our tour pilot's skill. I just thought she was really friendly and made the flight a lot of fun. Helicopters are expensive, so this isn't cheap - worth every penny! Mount Rushmore from the air is a very different experience than seeing it from the ground. Cheers to these folks.

Years ago on another Black Hills trip I kicked myself for not taking time to do this. This time around made it a point that I was going to take my first helicopter ride. So glad I did!! I sat beside the pilot in the front and honestly was nervous never having been off the ground before and told her so. The female pilot, wish I could remember her name, joked about nothing to worry about until she did her nose dives. Up we went and I was like ok here we go no turning back now. It was an INCREDIBLE ride seeing Mt. Rushmore from the air like that. Also got to see Harney Peak where I had hiked up to the top the day before. Only thing I noticed during the ride was being windy that day we could feel the helicopter moving around in the winds but she was great at keeping it steady. Experience was one of the best parts of my vacation.

Black Hills Aerial Adventure-Helicopter Tours South DakotaOn 9-2-14 we took a tour at Mt Rushmore about 35-40 minutes. It was terrific. Our pilot, Mark, was professional and knowledgeable. He kept the atmosphere light, he knew how nervous I was and assured me along the way. On 9-3-14 we took a tour at Badlands heloport which was around 20 minutes. Our pilot, Mike professional and well versed on badlands and surrounding area. Both of these pilots are very good at flying and making me less nervous in the air. My hubby and I highly recommend Blackhills Aerial Adventures!

We took a Black Hills area helicopter ride to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. What a great trip! My husband was grinning the entire time. We couldn't have had a better chopper pilot (Jim)...informative and fun. We saw Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, Lead mines, Harney Peak, etc. Searched for Mountain Goats and suprised a few Antelope. It was a blast!! The pictures and video from my Android phone came out much clearer than I thought they would. Had I known that, I would have taken more pictures. If you just want to feel what a helicopter is like, take the cheap trip. If you want to really see something, save the money and go for a #6 or #7 adventure. After all, how often are you going to do something like this?

Thank you for your thoughts and concerns. We strive to "fly neighborly" and minimize impacts on the enviornment. Our flights often provide the only means by which the elderly, infirm and handicapped can enjoy the beauty of our Black Hills.

My wife and I got to take a flight in a Robinson R44 over Mount Rushmore with pilot Mike. The flight was superb and we got really good views of Rushmore and Keystone. Mike, the pilot, gave us information about Rushmore that we had never learned before. All in all it was a great tour and we would recommend it to anyone traveling the Black Hills.

We spotted this opportunity as we were driving to visit the visitor centre at Mount Rushmore and decided to splash out on a helicopter trip instead. So glad we did. The staff at reception were lovely and very helpful. We took the special offer and had the pleasure of seeing Mount Rushmore and the nearby by Crazy Horse monuments along with a sweeping flight over mountain range. The pilot was very knowledgable and personable. Thank you for a wonderful flight with amazing views. It was a brilliant experience.

Our pilot was very talented. Not a rough patch in the air! His name was Taylor. I would love to fly with these guys again!! I did Custer State Park, Crazy Horse , and Mt Rushmore. We saw all these great attractions in one flight!!!

Pulled in at the last second to take a look. We had 2 children with us and didn't want to overly spend so we opted for the $49.00 special. It was so worth it. My boys actually got to go up twice because of the limited space. Dad flew first, I flew second. They've talked about the ride all day. My 4 year old loved the headphones and looking at the 'tiny cars.' Two thumbs up to the lady who flew us. We saw Crazy Horse from the air and it's actually better than going there.

We thoroughly enjoyed flying out of their Custer location. The MASH helicopter tour with Taylor was so amazing we came back later in the day and flew the 206 Jet Ranger!!! Smooth ride with best views of the Black Hills!!! Thanks guys!!!!!!

Our first day touring the black hills we decided to pop in and see if we could take a ride. We had never flown before...EVER..this was the first time. The staff was the BEST and our pilot was amazing. We seen so much! We toured around Crazy Horse as well as Mount Rushmore and got to see so much! I highly recommend doing this. I didn't find it overpriced at all... you get what you pay for and that was a once in a lifetime thing for us!

We went face to face with Mt Rushmore . Saw crazy horse at a birds eye view. Our pilot was knowledgeable about the area, informed us about things as we flew over . was expensive but worth it for a once in a lift time experience.

*Badlands Tour*I decided on a whim to do this with my 2 children (9 and 7) and am so glad I did. We did the cheapest package at $49/person and it was well worth it. I am not a fan of heights (had to stop on Notch Trail after the ladder on the 1st ledge to turn around...) but the staff was so excellent I felt at ease. Kind, no pressure salesmanship, and passion for what they do can't be denied. Perfection all the way around. Highly recommend.

I visited the Badlands area and I wasn't planning doing a helicopter tour during my visit but glad I did. The price is fair and views are great! The staff is extremely friendly (Badlands heliport) and make sure you leave a good review. These people LOVE their job!!!Now here’s more info for the visitor:This company provides 3 locations from which you can make your "flight":*Crazy Horse*Mount Rushmore*BadlandsThese are three heliport locations (see their website) from which several visits can be made. I saw one in Keystone, SD (very near Mt. Rushmore); however, the one I took was at the Badlands area (a small heliport near the entrance you can't miss it). The trip was phenomenal. For a fair price (starting 49 dollars as of MAY 2014), a 6-minute flight can take you breathtaking views of the area. Compared to other tourist places (Chicago, New York, etc), a helicopter tour ranges from $100 plus per person. To me it seems a fair price. The helicopter at that area (Badlands) is a 3 person passenger vehicle. A safety brief will be given to you (very short and simple). You have to decide who will be sitting in the front. Otherwise, the views are great regardless where you sit. Being in the low season, the wait was not long. I’m sure kids would love to be in a quick helicopter ride (if being first timer). Thus, if this is your first time in the area and would like to get a “different point of view” of the landscape (yes pun intended), then this can be a great choice!
