It's a bit weird that this is attached to a gas station, but I would encourage stopping here to get gas and to visit the museum. There are many different animals to see and the museum itself is done very well.
What a wonderful example to taxidermy! Beautiful creatures both near and far. Travel around the world in one room!
This is a true museum. There are a ton of both local and exotic animals in full size. Plus you can get very close to study colors and horns etc. Perfect for small kids since the animals are close and don't move. This place is worth a special trip. It doesn't take long to see so maybe catch it on your way the the Air and Space Museum or to the airport. Just don't miss it.
This place is free and open till 11pm. A great late night place to stop while on vacation if you aren't ready to stay in your room after 7pm. A variety of animals in various positions and scenery. Some are very unique.
Take a few minutes to check it out. It is a really magnificent display! It's at the Mobil station off Exit 61 on I90.
As other reviews npote, this is located onsite at a gas station-the cleanest most well stocked one around no less. A display of dozens of wild animals are on display for free. Almost any anima You could imagine and then some. My kids and husband really enjoyed the stop!
It is certainly unusual that a wildlife museum is connected to a gas station. My wife enjoyed it, but thought that it was certainly unusual.
So we pulled in for gasoline and a few beers and we're blown away not even expecting this! This was the coolest gas station/ museum I've ever been to...and possibly the only one of its kind. Our visit was accidental and we'll worth it. I would visit this again purposely next time.
If you have any interest in taxidermy, be sure to take a few minutes to check this place out. Its just a black off the interstate located on the grounds of a gas station. There's no admission charge and it doesn't take long to see everything. The collection includes eveyrhing from giraffes to deer to a hippopotamus, all of which were hunted by the same person.
Very interesting display of wild life from all around the world. Definitely need better signage. Great stop for a rainy day.
Interesting place to stop and look...its free to go in which is awesome, it offers people a way to look at alot of animals that the man who owns has actually caught and had stuffed and mounted for display...the white wolf is gorgeous..
This was a huge collection of taxidermied wildlife that was hunted by the owner. Numerous species from all over the world are here. There were a few i have never seen before. Nice to stop in for a few minutes and browse the displays.
This is the coolest gas station that I have ever been to. While travelling to Mt. Rushmore we stopped here and were amazed. The store practically doubles as a natural history museum. The owner is an avid big game hunter and has traveled the world pursuing his hobby. His collection of trophies includes lions, an elephant, a giraffe, bears, a leopard and many many more. This spot is a great way to stop and stretch your legs if you are making a trip west to Rushmore.
