Played here last month in a tournament. Course is in great shape and fun to play. In this area there are many to choose from, but this is great for the money.

They had just seeded the fairways so they were a little torn up. Also, no carts on the fairway that made it a little slower than usual but not too bad. I guess they are over watering to get the seed started because the green surrounds and approaches were really swampy. Lots of plugged balls etc. Greens were in good shape with good speed. I just wish courses would tell you when there is something substantial done that effects play, it is almost a bait and switch when the course is less than optimal not due to weather. We travel to PH twice a year and choose the courses carefully. Perhaps they may loose a few rounds while the course heals but it left a bad taste and we won't be back because of it.

Just got done golfing at Legacy and once again I am amazed at how friendly the staff is at this course. Water always availible and the pro shp prices are great. As for the course once again it was in great shape and of course has a great layout. A must play when in the Pinehurst area.

This is a really nice golf course in the Sandhills of North Carolina…and if you play in the afternoon, less than 40 dollars for 18 holes including cart!! The only knock against Legacy is the horrible mess that are cart paths. The course itself…a lot of fun. It's a nice layout, no gimmick holes…just a nice layout with pretty good greens.

From the time you entered the pro shop the customer service awesome. Prices in the pro shop very reasonable.any golf shirt for 39.00. Once you are at the starter you have a ranger that stays with about a 5 groups of golfers. He has water and ice on the cart and also gives you tips on some holes. He makes sure everyone has a good speed of play. The condition of the fairways were good but some of the tee boxes were not that great. The corse itself is beautuful.

This was my 15th time to Pinehurst and as with other years this was a great time! The course was in great shape for the time of year. I just wished mother nature would have helped us on Sunday! Brad and the rest of the staff were great (we took a rain check after playing nine due to the rain). The greens were true, fairways very nice, tee boxes also in good shape! The ranger warned the group in front of us to speed up play (yes, they were in our total group and yes they play slow). The ranger wasn't rude, just explaining to speed up the pace and catch up to the group in front. The same group was warned at other courses. Would I go back to Legacy? Absolutely! Year after year they earn our trust and business! We brought 20 guys down and will be at that number for years to come! I'm already looking forward to playing next year!

Regarding the negative comments by the reviewer above...I have played this course many times and find the course great and the staff to be excellent. The problems occur when golfers forget to play golf and decide that drinking is their goal. That is rude to the other golfers! Want to drink? Go to a bar! Want to play golf? Then you can not beat this course. The rangers do their job with tact, and the vast majority of golfers at this course appreciate their efforts to keep pace of play reasonable. Do not let this "who cares" golfer steer you from the challenge and enjoyment of this course.

have taken my group here for 5 years.course is great.well manicured,wide open,greens just redone and rolling true.seems each year my grouped get rushed even more.finally this year,im in 18 fairway ready to approach and an assistant wants to ride out and say we are 2 holes behind play. really,im on my last approach and you say this.you didnt say anything to me on 14 green.the group behind me is 1 1/2 holes behind me,so i have no need to rush.when we started at 9am i asked were there 3 tee times available in afternoon so my group could replay.starter said he would put us down,just to check in after 18.as a courtesy,i called on 17 tee box to check in,was told they were now booked up and we could wait 2 hours. sure dude.now we have to find somewhere to give our money.as i finished up,the courteous cart boys grabbed our carts as there were other golfers waiting on carts.so after going in to use bathroom,as i come out the cart boys are explaining that my group made the turn in time,but were too slow on the back. who cares.i brought your course $700 worth of play.i will take as long as i want.dont rush me and let me enjoy my day.I uncharacteristically let the cart boy have it.i lost my cool after a few cold beverages.its not my problem that you need my cart because you are overbooked.it was very unprofessional to tell me on 18 i am 2 holes behind because you need my cart.it is lackidasical to say i have a tee time and then give it away after i have brought you repeated play.im nobody special,but the customer is always right.will we go back again,probably.will we be rushed again, i think they will regret that decision.

A few minor glitches with our late arrival, but everything was resolved well and quickly. Steve is great to deal with, and the staff at Legacy itself is one of the best we've dealt with. National, Legacy, and Mid-South are all great courses with good staff. Playable, and in excellent condition for winter. Dormie Club is another story. Tricked up, too many blind tee shots, and packed to the gills... we felt like we needed track shoes instead of golf shoes... not a fun way to end the trip; I would not go back there. That is the only reason for the four ball rating... not Legacy's fault, but that last course left a bit of a sour note in our mouths.
