We can't wait to visit Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in different seasons. Our first time here, it was the dead of winter, and it possessed a serene beauty in the harshness of a North Carolinian winter in the Piedmont. We had the great fortune to see the orchid display in the conservatory. Truly breathtaking if you love Orchids. I've attached some of my best shots . Go, walk, breath, and connect with someone in this sanctuary of Belmont North Carolina

Wonderful Gardens. The highlight is the Orchid House. Probably the best I've seen so far! Great gift shop and champagne is for sale so you can sip as you admire the orchids!

Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens is a great day trip. The gardens are beautiful when everything is in bloom. We enjoy the displays and walking trails. If you enjoy beautiful landscaping this is a nice place to visit.

We waited in line for almost 30 min to enter the facility, and I didn't know why until I saw the amazing flora and the meticulous condition of the botanical garden. The LED light show was the 'icing on the cake', along with the greenhouse and the various waterworks. A must-see if you are a fan of plant life !!

The holiday lights were great! It was fun to see the dormant winter garden. My niece's imagination went wild. She totally fell in love with the fountains. The carriage ride was a bonus. Definitely a summer time place as well.

I just happened upon this place on a recent trip. I love botanical gardens,, so my review will be somewhat biased by my enjoyment of gardens. The few staff members I encountered were accommodating and cheerful and provided for me what I needed. The garden is not large, and I visited in the winter. However, I still enjoyed seeing the design and plans for the place. If their plans are completed, this will be an outstanding place. The potential is there and their beginnings are excellent. For its size, it met all my expectations. The cost was comparable to other attractions of its size and type.

This is a great little garden. For a facility only 15 years old, they have developed quite a lot of attractions, which have been done very nicely. The main building is a real gem, an extravagance unexpected for an garden of this size. The architecture is just breathtaking. As the garden has many uncultivated acres remaining, they have the potential to really expand this place and make it a world class facility. So far, they are off to a very good start. The admission prices should be reduced, however, for the winter months as there is far less to see with all the blooms and color gone.

Went though when the gardens were lighted for Christmas. The price is a bit high, but then again, I know it has to be expensive to keep gardens like this up annually, much less pay the power bill on all the lights that they had.

Thanks for the review. The Garden experience is much more than a light show. We've always tried to put together an event that allows friends and family to celebrate the season in a memorable way. Our 3 miles of trails are spectacular any time of year, so I'm glad you enjoyed that. We will try to keep your comment regarding the fire pits in mind. In fact, when we received them last month we had the same concern regarding their size. Thanks again; we hope you will visit in other seasons.

This is a lovely botanical garden, interesting all times of the year. It is small enough to be able to see the entire garden, but large enough to offer nice variety. The orchid conservatory is tremendous!

Beautiful gardens. Plan to be there before dusk so you can watch the lights come on, magical! Lots of things to see and do. Music, s'mores, popcorn and of course Santa !!

that way you can really appreciate the lights when they go on. I loved their version of their indoor tree - hint: think ferns and orchids. Absolutely gorgeous. I have been to several gardens in other states - FL,S.C., PA.- this one has different fountain that would be just lots of fun for kids on a hot day. And it's artistic at the same time.! (Would love to go back when flowers are in bloom everywhere.) And the lights are arranged not as lit up soldiers, santas, etc. but as flowers. Especially like the way they did the pergola. Nice walk in the daytime, rustenling the leaves on the way to the limited view of the lake. Plus we had a discount coupon!

This is a peaceful refuge off the beaten path of the bustling city of Charlotte. I first discovered it when there were artists from Zimbawe carving stones of what became magnificent sculptures on the grounds in a special exhibit called Zen a few months ago. During the holiday season, the trees are decked with colorful lights and visitors can walk through the gardens, take a carriage ride, listen to carolers and music. There is a new attraction, Lost Hollow" for children, a magnificent conservatory of plants and flowers and a wonderful gift shop of books , jewelry, carvings and handmade pottery, scarves, etc. There is also some food service. The Garden is a very special treasure.
