Lots of swings and slides. Walking track. Picnic areas. Bathrooms. Close to restaurants. Able to rent gazebo for weddings, church functions, family events, class reunions, etc... Free parking.
A terrific place to take children to play or dogs to walk. There is a large covered picnic area and a lot of swings and play equipment. Much of the park is shaded and there are bathrooms available for use. During the summer there are Friday nights with movies and Friday nights with live music. In the Spring and Fall, there are full day activities in the park. A great place to go downtown in Belmont.
This is a lovely park in a downtown district! If I had to relocate to the Gaston area and especially with young children I would definitely want to live within walking distance of this downtown! This park is a great amenity for families!
A bit pricey for gardens but certainly worth the cost (around $12 for an adult). Beautiful lights for Christmas. A live orchid tree upon entering pavilion. Crafts for kids, carriage rides, fire pit for s'mores. No restaurant--light snacks ie cupcakes, coffee, hot chocolate.
This park has concrete wallkways, exercise assist areas along paths, water fountains, many swings and slides in a mulched area to alieviate injuries, restrooms, water features, lots of grass to play in and tons of trees for shade. They also rent out the covered picnic tables and the gazebo, VERY reasonably, if you want to have a private party. We had our graduation party there and everyone had a blast. The kids played football, hoola-hoops and volleyball then cooled off under the fans in the shade.
Great park in down town Belmont. A gazebo, playground, bathroom facilities. In the summer there are concerts, festivals and a movie here and there. Shaded with a fenced in fountain. Great place to rest after shopping down town with or with out children!
Raised our young son playing here. Just the right size playground with benches, swings, slides and climbing over a sandy area surrounded by woodsy trees. Walk past the stage area at night and the fountain will be colorfully lit up. This is such a great small town park that hosts many festivals and fireworks on the 4th right over your head! It's exactly on Main Street and it's easy to park on the street or in nearby lots. All around the park are places to eat/drink. Cute cafe up the street a bit called "Cherubs" with ice cream and sandwiches. In the summer they also host movie nights and everyone brings their blankets and chairs. Stand on the sidewalk here at Christmas for the parade. Behind the stage area there is a big, grassy hill where our son learned to ride his bike and in winter kids sled down.
This little park is awesome. It has a nice playground with that rubber padding on the ground for the kids. There is a looped walking trail for the adults, maybe a 1/4 - 1/2 mile long. There is a section of diverse trees that are labeled so the kiddos can learn to ID some trees. Covered gazeebo with water fountains and BBQ available. And my favorite part... There is a circuit of plyometric workouts set up. Lots of leg raises, pull ups, push ups, dips, frog jumps, etc. good healthy fun for all!
Ate lunch here at a picnic table. Very nice park. It was so nice to see many children having fun at the playground. People were walking, reading, eating etc. A little sorry the fountain wasn't on. We were just passing through for a few hours. We were impressed with this town park.
Your lovely old neighborhood park - with simple amenities ... swings, sliides, a bandstand, a fountain, picnic tables, covered area, and green space. Right in the middle of downtown Belmont - for a nice walk about or sit about after eating at local restaurants. Toss a frisbee or a ball. Clean and safe.
Beautiful park with outstanding fountains and walk ways. Try Stowe Park, you will certainly enjoy the park and its fountains.
beautiful gardens...if you have kids try to take them around the holdays they always have really neat events around alot of the holiday!
If you can't identify your favorite bush or plant, bring it along and someone at Stowe will be able to tell you all about it. I'm amazed that each time we go, there is so much NEW to see! People who work there know their stuff and can give you great hints on your garden. Worth every bit of the entrance fee... and much more!
Nice little park to let the kids play, enjoy summer concerts
This is a cute little park. The problem is there is no parking lotYou must park on the street, if you can find a place.
