We were SO disappointed in our GLD experience. The tour was way too much a monologue and the food was substandard for even half the cost. We won't be back.
Wonderful products and when they have open house it is well worth the visit to learn of the cheese making process, but get there early..they had nothing left for us to buy when we got there..
Don't miss it when they have an open house. A great way to spend some time outside with the family. The kids love the experience and they can't get enough of the cheese.
They have a great selection of goat cheeses. You must try the marinated goat cheese--it's amazing. The people are great and explain the different cheeses very well.
This is a working farm that raises goats to make a variety of cheese products. Several times a year, they offer free tours. They explain many things about farming and facts that had me amazed - even though I grew up in the country. The owner encourages other farmers to work together to make a greater whole. They promote each other and use each other's products. He uses their local products and his own in dinners he holds several times a year. His products are sold at Deep Roots Cooperative Market and in grocery stores and at the Farmer's Market. I enjoyed learning about the benefits of eating local foods and meeting the animals. The night we ate there was memorable for its deliciousness and good company. I could go on and on, but I'll stop now.
You will enjoy the wonderful food. It is very special and fresh as well as organic. Learning about the goats, cheese making, other animals, and organic gardening that are a part of the dairy is very interesting! You will have a wonderful visit and meal.
This cheese and other products is to DIE FOR.. really.. organic, local, GREAT people. I buy it at the Farmer's Market and savor every bite.
one time, The goat lady brought her goats to the parking lot of Cracker Barrel and was a big hit . I like the hand lotion made from Goat milk.
